To-Do Tuesday Linky #62 and Weekly Update

Join us for the 182nd weekly to-do Tuesday update and the 62nd linky party post. A record 34 friends joined us and linked up their inspirations last week. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” May you have a contented week.

To-Do for the week of October 6th through 12th:

  1. Make our first International Sister block
  2. Find fabric for a herringbone table runner
  3. Start cutting fabrics for a light blue 9-patch

To-Do #1

Last weekend, we laid out all the different options for our International Sisters block. They will be joining the six blocks that Preeti sent us. We are well on our way – of course, we had to make more than just one trial block.

To-Do #2

We made a herringbone-patterned quilt a while back and enjoy the look so we’re giving it a go again. After stumbling upon these two separate fabrics that matched just perfectly in our stash, we knew they were destined to work for this new project. I foresee several half-square triangle pieces in my very near future. Sue has to get busy cutting up the necessary size pieces for me first!

To-Do #3

Finally, Sue had some additional fabric cutting on her docket this week. We committed to making a light-blue nine-patch quilt this quarter so we need several strip sets. After watching Natalia Bonner and her free video series on how to quilt a nine-patch block, I have been itching to try out some of her suggestions. One set of strip sets are together so Sue can start sub-cutting them for me. This is a reverse of our dark-blue batik quilt finished earlier this year.

October OMG

As mentioned above, we are going to finish off our Flower Power table runner as our October One Monthly Goal project. Our thanks go to Patty at Elm Street Quilts for hosting this monthly linky party. Here it is, all layered up.

To-Do for the week of October 13th through 19th

  1. Sew the Rolling Stone block for Pieces SAL
  2. Sew three more International Sisters blocks
  3. Buttonhole the last of the snowman borders (or start quilting our OMG?!)

Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:

  1. Flower Power is a darling!!! I am impressed by how you placed the flower at just the right spot on the wine colored sister. That orange/peach fabric makes the perfect outfit. I am sure between you and Sue you will make short work of all your goals.

Hello Roseanne, My Sue sounds busy cutting up all of the fabrics for these fun projects the two of you have all planned out! I think it is fabulous the way you can follow your plans so wonderfully. I have to find a plan that I can follow once again. LOL. This week, I have been spending quite a bit of time outside just enjoying the clean fresh air after the fabulous rain we received! With that our two huge fires are now almost totally out. Clapping!!!! Thank you and your family for all of the prayers! They were appreciated and answered. I hope that you and Sue are enjoying the Fall weather and everything that goes along with it! Have a spectacular day!!

Well Roseanne (and Sue) you two are real go-getters. I love your sisters blocks so far and three a week should be easy. But then you throw in all those other things to work on. And as if that isn’t enough you still go to work!! I think all of the things you are doing are loverly. Can’t wait to see more.

Can you believe you are up to #62 of these already!
Geez, I wish I had a Sue to cut up my fabric pieces. That is one job I’m not fond of with my crooked eye issue especially. LOL Meanwhile, love those international sisters and also will be interested in the quilting you do. Thanks again for the link up party, Roseanne.

  12. Rebecca Grace says:

I wish I had a Sue to do my cutting for me! And a Lisa to load quilts on the frame, and a Melissa to do the laundry so I would have more time to quilt… ;-). The peach solid and floral print look fabulous together! I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll do with those HSTs. Thanks for hosting the linky that keeps us all accountable each week!

  13. Sherrie says:

  14. Aren’t those sisters blocks fun to pick the fabric for? Looks like you are coming right along with them! Good luck with the other items on your list, too, Roseanne!

  15. Vicki in MN says:

Hurry up Sue, ya gotta get these all cut so Roseanne can get busy, LOL I had to go look up your Herringbone quilt again as I had forgotten what it looked like, so fun! How large of HST’s will Sue cut for the table runner? I kinda like that idea, I might just have some fabrics that would work for it;)

  16. You have some fun projects ahead. Love your sisters blocks! I realized last night as I climbed into bed, that I hadn’t written a post for today. Oops.

  17. Love the sister blocks. Good luck with your to dos this week.

  18. Love your sisters blocks, so pretty!

  19. Hi Sue and Roseanne. Great list you have. I’m intrigued with your fabrics for the chevron and nine patch quilts. Tried to link up but it says the Linky isn’t open for 7 days 😉
