To-Do Tuesday Linky #58 & Weekly Progress Update
Join us for the 58th linky party post and the 178th weekly to-do list. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.”
To-Do for the week of September 8th through 14th:
- Back to work on the red/white/blue runner – √ done
- Start appliquéing a flower power runner – √ done
- Decide on the quilting design for Wonky Wonk – √ done
To-Do #1
The red/white/blue runner was hanging out on the design wall for a bit. In front of our face, that meant it wasn’t to be forgotten about. It is nearly the end of the third quarter and it is one of the goals.
To-Do #2
I’m calling our newest table runner Flower Power as it reminds me of the designs from the 70s. Starting with the very center of the flowers, appliqueing went very quickly. These centers were then appliqued onto coordinating pedals for our Flower Power island runner.
Love #3
After doing some searching on Pinterest and losing at least a half-day doing so, I finally settled on “Organic Wavy Lines” for Wonky Wonk. I really like this idea that I found on the Bonjour Quilts blog website.
Originally, I thought I wanted the wavy lines in both directions but after seeing the simplicity of this quilting design one direction is enough.
September OMG
Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her monthly linky party. Now that a quilting design plan has been selected I can begin executing it.

- Layer and quilt the Easter hexagon topper
- Start quilting Wonky Wonk

Yes! The Flower Power is definitely 70’s style! Very cool! I like that wavy quilting!
You did well last week – and I am a little late to the party but hope you are progressing on this week’s goals!
Hi Roseanne, good luck with your quilting. I’m looking forward to seeing your funky flowers. Take care.
Yep, in front of my face is what I have to do as well to remember things. I also leave things by the door so I have to walk over them. Sometimes I also have to take things to my car so I don’t forget to take them as well.
I’m liking your projects. Those wavy lines are perfect for Wonky Wonk. Looking forward to seeing it completed!
Flower Power, Stars and organic wavy quilting! What an inspiring post today! Can’t wait to see your finishes!
Love the stars!! Oh, those flowers will be awesome! Can’t wait to see them done. Good luck with your projects!
Hello Roseanne, Your Red, White and Blue table runner project is lovely. I can not wait to see it completed. Of course, you have me very interested in your Flower Power table runner also. I am excited to see where these shapes are going to lead. The wavy lines does look like a fun way to quilt, I watched a short video on one of the video on the new Craftsy that I have been watching. I have a baby quilt that I am working on that would be fun to try it on. Thank you for sharing all of these wonderful projects that you and Sue are doing such a great job on creating! It is always inspiring to see what you are accomplishing!
Just a small update, our evacuation level has been lifted. Yet, they remain in place all over in Oregon and still in the towns devested not far from us. The predicted weather forecast from now through the weekend is another bout of high winds, lightening, dry conditions for most of Oregon with a few possible showers. So we may go right back into evacuation notice. We continue to pray for everyone in all of the states facing what we are! The smoke covering us is horrible, until late yesterday evening we could not even see but about 10 feet in front of our home. We can now see for maybe about a third of a mile. We have not seen the sun since last week, it feels about 50 degrees here, when it still should be at least 80. I just thought you would like an update.
Thank you again for sharing and have a fantastic day!
Hi,
Love the Flower Power blocks…so pretty and love those color combo’s. Really
like the wavy quilting…pretty. Have a great day!
Ooh, I love your RWB star runner and the Flower Power as well!
Oh you got this months goals.
I think I discovered the organic wavy lines quilting idea from a previous post of yours a few years back – you used it on your Regatta Quilt pattern I think? Anyway what I love about it is the fact that it is something that is done with the walking foot – and thus for myself seems more controllable than an all-out FMQ ‘pattern’.
Great choice for those Wonky Wonks, Roseanne!
Oh the time lost on Pinterest! I agree tho–the single direction of lines looks great.
Always a fan of Red white and blue – but Flower Power looks fun!! HEres to a good week!
Flower Power- are you following a pattern or making this up as you go? Anxious to see the finished project. Wavy lines are the in thing in quilting, and if you only do it in one direction you’ll be done faster!!
I’m a big fan of organic wavy lines, especially since it is something that is currently in my quilting repertoire! Your flower power project looks like fun, and the red/white/blue runner is looking wonderful. Have a great day, Mary.
I can’t wait to see the whole of the Flower Power blocks too…lived through that time, imagine that! And I love that organic style of quilting. Lovely post, Roseanne.
love wavy lines, fairly easy to do and easy is good!
Love your flowers and the qulting lines are perfect! Have fun finishing your red, white, and blue piece! Have a great week!
I love wavy line quilting, and it’s quick and easy to do! Sounds perfect for Wonky Wonk, Roseanne. Have a great week!
Love the RWB runner…it makes me want to start sewing again!
I’m waiting to see the finish of Flower Power, with all its 70s design going on! Of course, I’m liking that wavy quilting for Wonky Wonk too!
Love your Flower Power blocks, I think you nailed the color combos for your petals. Good luck with this week’s to do list.
