To-Do Tuesday Linky #38 & Weekly Progress Update

Join us for the 38th linky party post and the 158th weekly to-do list.  Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week.  “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off,” wrote Gladys Taber.

To-Do for the week of April 21st through 27th:

  1. Layer and quilt the hexagon quilt – √ done
  2. Cut out the Easter center section – √ done
  3. Sew the new charm pack pieces – √ done

Well, wasn’t I ambitious when setting this list?!!

To-Do #1

Layer and START quilting the hexagon quilt did indeed happen.  As I shared on Friday, it didn’t progress as I had planned with lots of thread breakage.  That’s okay!  I learned a lot while working my way through quilting just a few hexies.  This is one hexagon that has been quilted and I am quite happy with the overall look so far.

To-Do #2

Preparing for Easter 2021 (!!) is the way to stay ahead of the game.  HAHA!  Since I royally missed this year’s holiday – Sue was waiting for me to find my mojo – I am keeping a positive spin on this fun project.  I couldn’t cut six wedges from the pretty plaid fabric and then have a prayer for matching them perfectly.  Rather than even try and saving myself the frustration of imperfection I just made a one-piece template the size we wanted the center to be.  Momma didn’t raise no dummy (actually, I think this was my dad that had me think outside the box more often).

Here’s a peek at the bunny I’m appliqueing on along with one of the skinny borders.  We have some embellishing to do as the bunny will be smiling when finished.  I just adore this plaid fabric . . . and the whole project for that matter.

To-Do #3

This first shot of white strips and an open charm pack has grown into the start of some blocks.  I have a fun project in mind and Sue says she has NO idea what the next steps are.  But I do – bhahahaha.  She’ll have to be amazed when it turns out ever so cute.  I can’t wait to share all the details for this charity quilt.  It’s going to be a while before the project nears completion since it’s only a leader/ender focus right now.

April OMG

Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party.  We finished our April OMG hexagon quilt top project.  I’m working on quilting the 42 whole and partial hexagons and then I’ll trim the sides straight.  We considered adding additional pieces to imply additional hexies but it is a good baby quilt width now at 42″ so we left it as is.

To-Do for the week of April 28th through May 4th:

I’ll be heading in to work in the office a few times a week shortly in spite that both states (Wisconsin and Illinois) have a stay-at-home order in place until the end of May.  I want to keep my job – I’ll do whatever my boss asks.

  1. Come up with a May OMG project – what to do?!!
  2. Make the Our Country block from Pieces From the Past sew-along
  3. Sew the May color block

Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:

  • Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool
  • Don’t share a link to your own linky party or giveaway or promotion for your newest pattern release – I didn’t think I’d have to say this but apparently, I do!

  4. Awe Roseanne I’m sorry you had troubles with breaking thread. I hate that when it happens. I can waste so much time trying to troubleshoot the cause. The bunny in your second project is so darn cute. Show me more. Aren’t you a stinker for keeping us in suspense with the mystery project. I hope you don’t keep us waiting too long. 🙂

  5. That plaid is wonderful for an Easter table topper, and your bunny is adorable. The quilting on the one hexagon is the perfect motif. Thanks for all your hard work keeping this linky party going.

Such an industrious bunny you are. Perhaps the change of scenery (your house to school) will help shake off the last of the doldrums. Couldn’t believe how much you got done when you were working! So, that bunny is darling and I can’t wait to see what that leader/ender project will look like. Does Sue get to stay home?

  12. Roseanne, I’m impressed with your solutions in completing that hexie quilt…and Sue, your embroidery project is over-the-top cool (previous post)
