To-Do Tuesday Linky #24 & Weekly Progress Update

Join us for the 24th linky party post and the 144th edition of the weekly to-do list.  Thanks to everyone who linked up with us last week.  Today is our stop on the Winter Blues blog hop so I hope you check out that post, too.  “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off,” wrote Gladys Taber.

To-Do for the week of January 14th through 20th:

  1. Start on the Project Quilting challenge – √ done
  2. Complete the Winter Blues project – √ done
  3. Start quilting the OMG – √ done

To-Do #1

We are giving the Project Quilting challenge a try.  We missed the first challenge but 11.2 (season 11, second challenge) was released just yesterday at noon.  I was sort of stalking the website, awaiting rather patiently for the announcement.  I poked around and checked out many of the sponsors.  There are so really cool giveaways . . . but let’s worry about the challenge first.  One week to make something with the inspiration for “Team Colors.”

GB Prairie Points

This is NOT our project!  However, we did take inspiration from the fabrics used.  Sunday night’s football game and the Green Bay Packers are a team we stand behind in spite of their loss.  If the Bear fans can stick with them . . . well, need I say more?!  Wisconsin is lucky to have many great choices like the Milwaukee Bucks, the Milwaukee Brewers, the UW Badgers, the Admirals (hockey), and others.  Most of those teams mentioned are a short drive away from our home.

To-Do #2

The Winter Blues blog hop started on Monday.  Our hop day is today but I shared our Something post a wee bit early so that everyone would see the day one participants and their links.  The hop runs ALL week so don’t forget to check back on all of them.

To-Do #3

Quilting of the Geo Star Plaid quilt has begun!  Woohoo!  In my mind, I am calling it the Geo Plaid plaid.  It is difficult to see but I’m using a gray Aurifil 50 wt thread, and it stands out just perfectly on the black fabric patches.  There shouldn’t be an issue completing this for the January OMG project.

January OMG

Thank you to Patty’s at Elm Street Quilts and her linky party which opened on January 1st.  Our project for this month is to quilt the Geo Star Plaid Quilt Top.  I love this quilt top and cannot wait to have it complete.

To-Do for the week of January 21st through 27th:

  1. Finish and link the Project Quilting project by noon on the 26th
  2. Continue on the second snowman topper (maybe finish it?!)
  3. Start the Pieces From the Past first block

Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:

  • Share your post or Instagram photo in the linky tool (but don’t share a link to your own linky party or giveaway)
  • Please point your readers back here with a text link or use the button from the right sidebar
  • Also, please visit and comment on other participants’ messages as time allows

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Your Something Blue table runner is lovely. Sounds like it will be well received into your sister’s home with the blue design and butter yellow back. Geo Star is looking amazing! Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Have a blast coming up with projects and completing them in a week for the Project Quilting. I look forward to seeing all that you create! I am in love with your winter blues project. Isn’t it just fun that a simple HST can make such an impression. Geo is coming along nicely too.

  7. Your blue and white tablerunner is gorgeous, Roseanne! I’ve got Day 2 of the blog hop up on my tablet and ready to read all the posts. Meanwhile, glad you’re making progress on quilting Geo Plaid!

Wishing you luck on your To_Do list. If I had thought about it we could have switched days for the hop. My day is tomorrow.

  9. I considered the Project Quilting prompt for this week, but decided to pass. I’m not much into team colors. Will be fun to see what you whip up though! I’ll be watching that blog hop as the posts come in. That winter blues runner is so pretty!

we watched the game too – doesn’t matter how long it has been since I lived in WI but the Packers are still my team – I watch the Bucks from time to time also and saw them in person several times way back when

You had a productive week last week. Love your winter blues quilt, love those deep and icey blues. Good luck with your to do list this week.

All the best for this week. Pieces from the Past sew along sounds really interesting. While I won’t do it, I’ll be following it through your blog and links. The winter blues quilt is very effective with the wavy lines quilted on it.
