To-Do Tuesday Linky #1 & Weekly Progress Update

This is the 122nd edition of our weekly to-do list but the first one as a part of our own linky party here on our website.  I hope you consider joining in!

To-Do for the week of August 5th through 12th:

  1. Find the backing fabric and add the borders to the Cind-erella quilt top – √ done
  2. Find the fabrics for the beehive block √ ready to be sewn
  3. Choose the August monthly color block – √ done

To-Do #1

Our August OMG project is to piece the Cind-erella quilt top together, and that has easily happened.  We even found a nice princess fleece backing that features Cinderella and her princess friends.  Our sweet Addison likes to rub soft fabrics on her cheek when she is putting herself to sleep, so we needed a nice soft fabric as the backing.

To-Do #2

The August beehive queen bee is Sandy this month, and she selected the Tic Tac Toe block.  Earlier this year we made this block January IG Honey Bees for Jan so this isn’t our first rodeo.  Here are our fabric choices for Sandy and one of the blocks we sent to Jan.

Sandy requested a bright/lime green, an ocean blue and for the center “X” a combination of the two colors.  Luckily, we had an Island Batik 10″ layer cake pack that fit the bill and Sandy approved.  We will get it made next week and then mail it off.

To-Do #3

Marigold is the color for the August monthly color block, and Sue pulled the fabrics for our block.  We continue to use the Sand swiss dot fabric for the background.

August OMG

Our August OMG (one monthly goal) is to complete the Cind-erella quilt top for Addison.  We linked this goal on Patty’s Elm Street Quilts website and linky party.  We just layered the quilt top.  Now how should I quilt this puppy?!!?  I got these new rulers . . .

To-Do for the week of August 13th through 19th

  1. Start quilting Cind-erella (once I figure out what to do)
  2. Dabble on the Quiet Book and other half-started projects
  3. Find something to work on that captures our attention (so the dabbling will end!)
  4. Watch the littles on my last Friday off before staff and students return – EEK

Here is the linkup and just a few easy rules to follow:

I would like to make the link-ups show in the post instead of going to a separate screen.  Maybe when I am out of the trial period I can make changes.  Beats me but stick with me – I’ll get it figured out.  Maybe. ~smile~

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

Hi, Roseanne! I’m trying to link up at 9:52 AM on Tuesday by clicking the “join linky party” button. I don’t see any other links already listed before clicking the button, but after clicking the Join button I see a bunch of links (maybe older ones?) and get the message that the linky has already ended. Maybe there is an issue with the linky code — this happened on someone else’s linky party once and they were able to fix it somehow.

  2. Denise says:

Oh no, I am so so sorry. I forgot all about your linky party. Reminder set on my cell phone so I dont forget next week.

  3. Hi Roseanne. I am amazed at the number of blog posts you write. You’re prolific for sure! It’s fun reading about your weekly goals and past week’s accomplishments. Maybe one of these days, I’ll get it together to start writing a To-Do/Weekly Progress Update post! Love your fabrics for the bee blocks and that backing fabric for Cinderella is absolutely perfect! Have a great week, Mary.

  4. Sharon says:

That is a cute Cinderella pieced quilt and a perfect back too! Thank you for taking over the hosting of To-Do Tuesday. I’ll miss Christine, but am happy you are taking over the linking party for her!

  5. Christine says:

I didn’t stop to write a huge THANK YOU in my post for being willing to take over To-Do Tuesday! So.. THANK YOU!! I will be sure to stop by so I can see all of the projects you and Sue have going on and to keep you posted on the kidlet happenings!

I love the Cinderella top, and that fleece backing is so perfect!

  6. Looking forward to your ruler quilting! Thanks for starting up a link party. I’ve wondered why some of them go to a hidden page.

Rosanne,so happy you gals got the nod for this party. Is this one just for quilting? As you know I love to hop around with the stitching and I also enjoy seeing things other than stitching that people are up to (maybe that would be for another link party).

  8. Susan says:

Nice to see you’re taking over this linky party – they are so much fun! Can you re-check the code for the new button? I tried it this morning, and the image won’t come up.

  9. Barbara Esposito, The Quilted B says:

That backing is just perfect! You two always seem to come up with the best! And how on earth did this summer fly by so quickly? It will be Ch… never mind I won’t even say it :o)

  10. Oh I love the addition of the fleecey backing – not only cute, but soooo accommodating to the littlest ‘littles’ needs. Do you do anything differently when you quilt cotton on front and fleece on the back? (machine set up, needles, etc?)

I’m wondering if I can join the linky party knowing I won’t be a **weekly** contributor? I’m on the fence as I tend to be the type that goes all in if it’s a commitment thing.
I have enough on-going sewing projects I can report on, but not consistently…yet I kind of like the aspect of putting goals out there, but my goals are intertwined with my primary (music) focus – So?
    No biggie, just wondering.

Meanwhile: Good for you on starting your own HomeSewnbyUs linky party complete with button!
    Very cool
    😎

Let me just add this reply publicly – of course you can join in just as often as you’d like. I’m not here to add pressure to anyone! We’d love to have you, no matter how often you jump in. ~smile~ Roseanne

  11. I have no idea how you should finish Cinderella, but I’m looking forward to seeing what you do. Hope you have a good linky party!

  12. I love that you are doing this! I will add it to my list of things to do starting next week (blog hop this week). Good luck with your new endeavor! I am sure you will come up with something fun for that ruler quilting!

  13. Cocoa Quilts says:

I thought that block picture looked familiar. I think Sandy’s quilt is going to be so cute, reminding me of the beach with those water colors.

  14. Hi, Roseanne! Good for you for figuring out this linky party thing! I’m happy to be joining in!

  15. Kathryn says:

What a lovely fleece backing you have for the Cinderella block. It will be so soft and inviting.
