16-Patch Framed 4-Patch Quilt Finished

We started this 16-Patch Framed 4-Patch quilt after sharing the tutorial with you back on March 31.  It went together fairly easily and quickly.  I am happy to share with you that it is complete:

16-Patch Framed 4-Patch Complete!!

Spiral1

Here are a few shots of the quilt in progress:

The really nice aspect of this quilt is that it uses only one jelly roll.  Not only that but there is very little left over to add to your stash.  In an earlier update, I shared the name of the fabric we used and other details, but we chose a fireworks print for the backing and binding.  Soon I’ll share an update on my machine quilting experience but this spiral quilting will definitely be added to my do-again list!

Here is a close up of the spiral on the front and back of the quilt:

We haven’t decided whether we should list it in our Etsy shop or not.  One of us (Sue) thinks it is too cute to sell . . .  My intent all along was to beef up our Etsy items.

We’re linking up with Finished or Not Friday, Sew Can She, and Design Wall Monday!

Very pretty finish! Love the colors. I’ve always wanted to try that circle quilting!

Hi Rachel! Give it a try – really, it was not that hard at all. Just really, really SLOW to start – like two stitches, turn the fabric, two stitches, turn the fabric. It gets better the further out you get. I think my next attempt is going to be overlapping circles . . . ~smile~ Roseanne

  2. I love seeing quilts with spiral quilting….one day I will give it a try! 🙂 It’s so nice that this pattern uses most of a jelly roll. Nothing to add to the scrap basket is always a plus!

Hi Beth! Definitely give spiral quilting a try. If this beginner machine quilter can do it – so can you. And I agree – nothing to add to the scrap bin. ~smile~

    Amazing quilting!!!

Your spiral quilting really does make those gorgeous colors pop. So attractive! The block combos work together well, too. I’ve done two quilts with spirals so far with my Viking Husqvarna, no special foot, and I really love the way they turned out.

Hi! I have a Husqvarna too but couldn’t get the walking foot on it, so I used the Brother instead. I had trouble when I didn’t use that foot. Thanks so much for your comment and visit ~smile~ Roseanne

That is a cute quilt! I love that you can make it with a jelly roll.

Hi Shannon! I didn’t really believe it only used one jelly roll, but it’s true and I had a small amount left over 🙂
