To-Do Tuesday #253 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 253rd weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Linda hosts the To-Do Tuesday linky party and we thank you, Linda!

To-Do for the week of April 19th through 25th:

  1. I don’t know! √ Done
  2. Host TGIFF√ Done
  3. Find my waning mojo√ Done

To-Do #1

The I-don’t-know item turned into layering Colt’s quilt and getting it prepped for quilting. That involves lots of ironing on my part. I find that the more prep time I invest prior to starting to quilt, the more successful and less issues I have during quilting. I imagine there is a statistical equation in there but we’ve had enough of that for the last eight weeks! HAHA! This cute paw-print fabric is our choice for the backing. Since Colt and his dog, Zeus, are good buddies we thought it was fitting.

We use our kitchen island to layer our quilts. It sure is handy to be able to walk around all four sides, iron and pin with ease, and not have to crawl around on the floor!

To-Do #2

Last Friday we hosted our first TGIFF (Thank Goodness It’s Finish Friday) for 2022. At that linky party we shared our Beau Bear baby quilt finish, which is only our third for the year. We actually have another hosting gig coming up on May 20th. Dare we dream that Have A Ball be a finish for that linky party?! It should be our May OMG project, don’t you think?

To-Do #3

Waning mojo – where, oh where might it be? I don’t know but we did get another pretty quilt top finished for yesterday’s blog hop. Our version of Preeti’s Synergy pattern we’re calling Collaboration just needs to be quilted. If you’re interested, Preeti’s Synergy pattern is on sale for 25% off through tomorrow. If you would like to win a copy of the pattern, leave a comment on our Monday post. We’ll chose a winner at the end of the week.

To-Do for the week of April 26th through May 2nd:

MAY!!! How is that even possible??!!

  1. Layer the Home-Stars table runner, finally
  2. Start quilting Have A Ball – doubtful but maybe??
  3. Two is more than enough to keep it stress-free, especially with waning mojo

Yep, the paw fabric is perfect and so cute. I used to crawl around on the floor and then I finally started putting folding tables together. I don’t miss any of that but it really wasn’t so bad once I got up off the floor! Glad your island heps out! Collaboration is really pretty! How is it May? I don’t know!! But it’s really not quite yet. Maybe we can all squeeze a little more into April first?

  2. Would have been quite a job layering and getting the ball top ready for quilting. Of course quilting it is a big job too. All the best with it. I never crawl around on the floor to layer, the dining table is my go to! Very nice paw print fabric for the backing.

Roseanne I love how you still put something out there even with the waning mojo. You never know what will spark that creative juice. Love your Collaboration quilt.

  4. Sherrie says:

    Hi,
I like the Paw print…so colorful. And I really like your Collaboration quilt. I’m stuck, haven’t been
in the mood to quilt…so I got a quilt book our and found a couple new ones I want to make. Hopefully that
will get my quilt mojo back. Have a great day!

  5. Gail Sheppard says:

Roseanne, with your mojo waning, summer coming and your no-stress mantra for this year, don’t worry about it! It will be fine and it’ll return full force in it’s time!
I look forward to seeing Collaboration quilted – in time! 🙂

Don’tknow how I missed that you are getting a new couch. I could use one too. Actually went shopping a few months ago and came back discouraged! Now as to your goals, I think you are being reasonable to keep the list short and sweet. I love that backing fabric for Colt’s quilt…is it flannel? While it is nice to see progress, sometimes it is nice to get out and do things….visit the littles, Sue’s mom, a fabric store, a book store, take a nap, watch TV, go out to lunch. Pick any or all of these and have a great week.

  7. It sounds to me like you’re doing the perfect thing for your missing mojo, Roseanne – powering through. Hooray for getting Colt’s quilt basted, and Synergy ready in time for the blog hop. Those are big! The backing for Colt’s quilt is adorable!

  8. I love backing into projects, and love that you are making the quilt first and buying the couch to go with it instead of buying the couch and then making the quilt for it! LOL Glad your mojo is on it’s way back. Those islands are great for layering – as are tall tables for cutting boards! No more crawling around on the floor for me as the knees are too bad and would have to hire a crane to get me up! LOL Have a great, and more importantly, FUN week with your goals!!

  9. Linda says:

Wow you’re lucky on that kitchen island! I’d sit in a bar stool and sip coffee while you and Sue did all the work. 😉 Love that dog paw backing you’ve chosen.
Thanks so much for linking to To Do Tuesday!

A kitchen island would be a big help for getting a quilt layered. More and more difficult to get up and down on the floor these days. For me, UP is the hardest! haha! I’m so glad I found your post. The link at To -Do Tuesday isn’t working for your blog this morning. Blogger is having a problem. I recognized your title for your post, so just went directly to your blog.

  11. Kathleen McCormick says:

You did well. I do love your version of Preeti’s quilt and can’t Wait to see the couch you purchase to go with it. Good luck with your week.

  12. Wendy says:

Well, for having a lack of mojo, you certainly got a lot done! I hope that mojo comes back soon!

  13. Vicki in MN says:

I am glad you found some mojo and hope it continues to hang around your house a bit longer! You got this girls!!
