To-Do Tuesday #234 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 234th weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Linda who is hosting the To-Do Tuesday linky party. Thank you, Linda!

To-Do for last week November 9th – 15th:

  1. Back to work on the ballerina quilt – √ Done
  2. Something else – I don’t know what – √ Done

To-Do #1

I’m almost thinking that this ballerina quilt is not meant to be. Almost. The quilting pattern is a simple crosshatch approximately two-inch apart. The first pass took nine bobbins . . . I ran out of thread during the second pass. I purchased the thread a while ago. The label fell off. I don’t know where to even begin to look in all of my online shopping email messages . . . seriously. Deep breath. The first pass went well and looks good! We’re getting closer and closer to the finish line.

I’m SO happy to be sewing again. ~smile~

To-Do #2

Something else actually did happen, but it would be considered secret sewing. I can’t share the details for a bit. However, there is something fun to share instead!

We are going to participate in the upcoming Virtual Christmas Cookie Exchange Blog Hop. Our day is December 9th just in case you’d like to mark your calendar. Last week, our friend Darlene picked up the WE Energies yearly cookie cookbook for us. This year, they are celebrating military service. One of the recipes included is called, “128th Brew City Tanker Cookies.” I’ve got a hankering to make these and the first ingredient threw me for a loop. Coffee stout craft beer. Hmm. Where does one find that? Doesn’t it sound delicious, in an odd way?! I loved stout in Ireland but have never had it since that one visit. We’ve got a bead on where we can get a six-pack . . . more later as the saga continues.

To-Do for the week of November 16th – November 22nd:

  1. Dare I say finish the ballerina quilting – maybe.
  2. Continue secret sewing
  3. Sew something that I can actually share and discuss – it’ll be surprise for all of us!

  1. Hi Roseanne. It’s so great to hear you are sewing again. Ballerinas and secret sewing = so much fun. Can’t wait to see what you are cooking up for the Virtual Cookie Exchange Blog Hop.

  2. Mary says:

I agree with everyone else. Don’t stress too much about perfectly matching that thread. And cookies, stout, and coffee—what a great combo!

  3. Kathleen McCormick says:

OHHHH secret sewing…I love to “hear” that is going on. That quilt is certainly throwing a temper tantrum isn’t it; rather causing you to throw a temper tantrum. It will be gorgeous when done, just breathe each time it throws a new challenge to you. It will be gorgeous and loved….the best that there is.

  4. Keep going on that ballerina quilt, Roseanne! You can do it! I do hope you can find some of that thread, or at least something that is close enough to call it good. Have fun with your blog hop project – I’ll look forward to that!

  5. Gail Sheppard says:

YEAH!!!! You’re sewing again!!! And I am so HAPPY to hear that you are working on the ballerina quilt!!!!! You KNOW I’ve been desperately wanting to see it DONE!!!! I have total faith that you will get it done! YEAH!!!!

  6. Rochelle Summers says:

Different thread (color changes) could be called a “design element”! I hope you find what you are looking for. Hmm, beer cookies (I know that is not at all correct) reminds me of camping when we were little and dad would make beer pancakes for breakfast. Did Not Taste Good to Me!!! Happy sewing and enjoy the process.

  7. Wendy Tuma says:

I can relate to the frustration of running out and not remembering what or where, but you’ll finish the quilt and it will be beautiful and loved and twirled, and no one will know about the thread angst. Coffee stout craft beer in cookies – how interesting! We have a few craft breweries here in town that might have something like that. I’m not a beer drinker, but would be fun to hunt that down just for the cookies. They look tasty!

  8. I’m so happy you’re happy to be sewing again!! Hang in there. I know you will get that sweet ballerina quilt finished and I’m looking forward to seeing it. Good luck on your search for the coffee stout ale!! I’m not a beer fan, so it doesn’t sound particularly good to me! LOL

  9. chrisknits says:

You will get that quilt done, Addison is counting on you! No, that doesn’t sound remotely appetizing!! LOL

  10. Vicki in MN says:

I am glad you are happy and sewing again! You will be sighing a big relief when the ballerina is all done:) Hang in there, you can do it!

  11. A certain little princess is not going to care if all of the thread is matchy matchy in her wonderful ballerina quilt! 🙂

    That recipe intrigues me! 🙂
