To-Do Tuesday #228 Weekly Update

Join us today for the 228th weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Linda who is hosting the To-Do Tuesday linky party.

To-Do for last week September 28th – October 4th:

  1. Start sewing for the Two by Four QAL – √ Done
  2. More applique on the seasonal table toppers – √ Done
  3. Finish up the Ghastly Ghouls project – √ Done

To-Do #1

We have joined Katy and Deanna in their Two By Four QAL. Cutting continues on the 160 rectangles and 280 squares needed to make a 60″ x 80″ quilt for the Merciful charity. I am anxious to get sewing on these beautiful fabrics, although this is officially a leader/ender. Sometimes you just want to do some mindless sewing.

Here is the first “dark” fabric matched with each of the ten light fabrics! We’ve made it through cutting all the lights now from the Fat Quarter bundle I won. It is looking like the 20-piece FQ bundle will be enough without supplementing from our stash after all. We’ll keep on cutting the dark fabrics this week.

To-Do #2

This Thanksgiving topper is in the works for Sue’s sister. All four sections have been appliquéd and their sashing has been added along with a striped border. Up next is it needs to be layered, and quilted. There is plenty of time before it is needed for the holiday – it’s nice to have no-stress projects.

To-Do #3

It won’t be long before the Gashtly Ghouls blog hop starts on October 18th.

We’ll have two table toppers to share on our day, which is Thursday, October 21st. We haven’t been real big on celebrating Halloween in years past but our littles are involving us this year. Paw Patrol characters will be invading us later this month . . . Last year, it was Toy Story! Jessie and Buzz were so little.

To-Do for the week of October 5th through 11th:

  1. Continue sewing the Two by Four pieces for the quilt-along.
  2. Finish up the Thanksgiving table topper
  3. Start working on a Christmas topper for Nicole

I totally relate to sometimes wanting to do some mindless sewing. Your dark/light combos look great. I’m enjoying your Thanksgiving topper coming together and look forward to seeing your Halloween projects.

  5. Well done, getting all the “check marks”! I do love the two by four quilt, but discovered it a bit late! Maybe it will be added to my “to be done at a later date” list. Cute Thanksgiving topper. OMG .”Jessie” and “ Buzz” were little! Don’t they change so fast?

  6. I agree – sometimes you do just want some mindless sewing! I’ll look forward to seeing your Two x Four quilt, Roseanne! I love that striped border for the Thanksgiving topper – I might have just used the same one for a little fall project. Have a great week!

Such a great week of sewing for you. I love the table topper and what progress you’re making on the “enders and Leaders” project. I was reading a book and the closer I got to the end, the harder it was to put it down! That’s what it’s like when something that’s supposed to be a little break from a project reaches up and grabs my interest. Can’t wait to see what those littles are up to for Halloween this year!

You have done well this week – always fun to see what you are working on. I am falling a bit behind with Two and Four, but not too badly – yet.

  9. You’re so right about the ‘sometimes all you want is to do some mindless sewing’.
Like those fabrics and great that it’ll be for a charity, too!
