To-Do Tuesday #220 Weekly Update
Join us today for the 220th weekly To-Do Tuesday list and update. Gladys Taber wrote, “Contentment is a list with half of it crossed off.” We are joining Chris at her To-Do Tuesday linky party.
To-Do for the week of July 6th – 12th:
- Get the rows started for the Positivity Corner Plus blocks – √ Done
- Continue appliqueing the ballerinas – √ Done
- Start working on the second Positivity quilt – YES!!
We are focusing on the first of our quilts for the Positivity QAL this month. July 18th is the next linky party for everyone to share their quilt tops! We managed to get all 48 blocks complete and some help with the layout. Sue’s Mom was a big help, stepping back and seeing where colors were too close together.
It was fun to see the corner pieces come together into a four-patch as I was pressing two rows.
Addison’s full-size applique quilt project has a center block, at last. The sweet blond-haired ballerina has a background fabric of Tula Pink’s True Color Fairy Dust in a pale grey. There is also one of the smaller ballerinas complete, although both still need their eyes and mouth added. Unfortunately, this project has to move to the back burner temporarily. Just for a few weeks, though – at the most!
For the second Positivity quilt, I got a start on sewing some of the blocks. Laying out the pieces first is going to be a key component for me to get them correct.
We are making 32 of the block on the left using the same fabrics. The remaining 16 blocks will feature four fat quarters of the winning fabrics from Bernie (Mayfair received in happy mail). The block on the right is a directional fabric – I notice I had the center strip upsidedown for the photo.
Thankfully, I was able to sew it together correctly for a photoshoot of the first two blocks! Phew! Only 46 more blocks to go.
