To-Do #52+8 Weekly Update

This is our 60th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.  Check it out as other friends post their to-do lists as well! ~smile~

To-Do for the week May 28th through June 3rd:

  1. Sew row 2 of Plus Playtime QAL – √ done
  2. Continue quilting I Spy – √ done
  3. Find fabrics for Christmas in July blog hop – √ done

To-Do #1

Our charge this week was to sew the second row for the Plus Playtime QAL hosted by Sandra at mmm Quilts.  We are loving how this quilt is coming together so quickly, the design itself and especially the hashtag fabrics we chose.  This is definitely a make-again quilt!

To-Do #2

The quilting on I Spy has commenced this week.  I really love looking at all the different fabrics in this fun quilt.  I choose a crosshatch design for this quilt because it is simple,  easy, and quick.  Now that the weather has turned fall-like again, Dominic could be using it right now.  Hopefully summer will return again soon.

To-Do #3

We are participating in a Christmas in July blog hop, hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt.  Just recently we won a gift certificate from Stitch Stash Diva thanks to the Postcard QAL.  We are planning THE COOLEST project for the blog hop and had the chance to pick out some fabrics for it.  It is often difficult to select fabric online, don’t you think?  We didn’t have much of an issue with this shop because of their huge selection.  Honestly, we had so many options in the cart at one point we had lost our focus.  We reined ourselves back in, and here is our ultimate choice for this project.

Can you see the texture in that lovely deep red?  And the green fabric – ooh-la-la it has a pine tree design but the colors are just perfect.  Sue almost has the EQ8 pattern ready to go. ~smile~

Extra:

Sue decided to start working on another new quilt.  She is calling it Fall based on the colors in the fabrics.  This will be another hand quilting project with different leaves used like a Maple, Oak, etc.  Here she is working on the layout.  I really like the fabrics and colors in this charm pack, and the alternate blocks are a pretty cream.

June OMG Goal:

Our Elm Street Quilts June OMG goal is to finish the Tea Flower mystery QAL #2 quilt top.  With any luck we may get it quilted as well but I’m not holding my breath.

To-Do June 4th through 10th:

  1. Finish I Spy quilt for Dominic
  2. Work on binding for t-shirt quilt
  3. Finish up Bubbles baby quilt

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

Send Sue my way once she get the EQ8 thing down. I am hopeless with it and always resort to pen and paper. Better yet, tell her to call and I will explain my ideas and she can whip them up in EQ8!

Good idea for lists . Sometimes a list helps me focus and sometimes a list makes me panic . Kind of depends on the list I suppose . I like how your plus quilt as a different look with darker fabrics . Looks really well

  4. You sound like you’re very organized and have a great list lined up. So you are cross hatching for that quilting. Do you think I could do that, lol. I will be eager to see Sue’s leaves…love leaves in quilts.

Some great work to be done. Tell Sue I love those Fall fabrics, of all colours fall fabrics are my fav. Haha just written that and seen a similar comment above! I like the plus playtime, and can’t wait to see the whole top go together. Yes it is hard to choose fabric online and I find that because often the colour doesn’t quite match what I’d hoped for when it arrives but usually not too bad. Love your Christmas choices.
