To-Do #52+7 Weekly Update

This is our 59th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We usually share our update post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.  Check it out as other friends post their to-do lists as well! ~smile~

To-Do for the week May 21st through 27th:

  1. Sew Row 1 of Plus Playtime – √ done
  2. Continue sewing HSTs for Tea Flower – √ done
  3. Start quilting I Spy – √ done

To-Do #1

I Spy vacated the design wall just in the knick of time!  Row 1 of the Plus Playtime QAL is all together.  Also just in the knick of time because row 2 sewing starts today.  I have to share a closeup of the fabrics when this is all complete because this picture does not give it its due.  The second row background plus sign is navy although this looks black to me.

To-Do #2

The Tea Flower mystery QAL has progressed to having HSTs trimmed. 65 blocks were sewn and then the cutting department took over (Sue).  This Friday we will share more photos but not too many details because it is after all a mystery.  We may not have agreed on a pattern yet.  Who knows?!  I think we shall make this our June OMG so that it doubly ensures that it is complete.

To-Do #3

As mentioned in to-do #1, I Spy has evacuated the design wall.  That can only mean one thing.  It is time for our sweet boy’s next quilt to be quilted.  We layered it up and used this cute, adorable leftover Spot fabric as the backing.  This way it is an I Spy quilt on both sides!  The crosshatch design is my go-to, easy peasy, no-thinking-required pattern and is being used. It also happens to be one of Dominic’s favorites.  He still likes to poke at the diamond shape and try to pick them up, and we hate to deny him that fun.  He looks so cute doing it, too. ~smile~

May OMG Goal:

Our Elm Street Quilts May OMG Finish goal was to quilt and bind the Evening Star quilt.  It is complete and a post about it was shared yesterday – yippee!  Here is a peek with Sue being our quilt holder.

I just love the secondary designs you see with that quilt. Sometimes the stars pop, sometimes, the 9 patch, and sometimes all I see is the blue squares. Great job on that one.
