To-Do #52+49 Weekly Recap Update

This is our 101st edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts and at Becca’s What I Made Monday website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.  Check out what our friends are sharing!

To-Do for the week of March 11th through 17th:

  1. Borders for the Dumbo baby quilt – √ done
  2. No set goal

To-Do #1

Poor little Dumbo was tired of being ignored.  Tuesday night I sewed on the yellow borders and Thursday night the gray stars found their way.  Woot woot – we have a quilt top.  Saturday afternoon, I started outlining the Dumbo shape with a medium gray thread and the walking foot.

Little Dumbo had to share the design wall with a Dr Seuss quilt top that has been living there far too long.  You can see the Seuss sashing peeking through on the left photo.  On the right, Dumbo’s happy face is encouraging me to outline carefully.

To-Do #2

Those eight little seams for the borders above are the sum of all the sewing for the week.  Oh, we did finish Mary’s Bee Hive blocks and shared them in a post on Friday.  Paper piecing has peeked my interest again.  I also think this experience has given me a better understanding for my hummingbird pattern in EQ8.  We’ll see about that!

March OMG

Our March goal with Patty at Elm Street Quilts is to complete a Dumbo baby quilt for a coworker.  At least quilting has commenced!

To-Do for the week of March 18th through March 24th

  1. Continue quilting Dumbo
  2. Add binding to Spring Wave
  3. Start on a secret sewing project

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

I can’t wait to see that humming bird pattern.

  5. That is SO cool that your interest in paper piecing has been peaked. I can’t wait until you put the finishing touches on your Hummingbird design. I’ve been doing a little designing in EQ8, but regular piecing not paper piecing yet. Have a great day! Mary

Hello Roseanne, It is always great to read about and see all of the projects you are making progress on. The Dumbo quilt is going to make a baby happy for many years as will the Dr. Seuss quilt. Your Humming bird is already looking fabulous so I just hope that you have continued success with what your plans are for the Paper Pieced Block! Have a fabulous day!

  8. Dumbo is looking great and March is a forgiving month; iit seems to me a little longer than most. You will get that hummingbird firgured out – I know it. There is an upgrade to EQ8 – not publicly announced but available. It may help you in some odd ways – better printing and some of the adjustments are better – you can scale your zoom – so much more control. AND Kari’s classes are opening up again soon…..

  9. Shanon Fleming says:

I know you’re going to get that humming bird figured out! And dumbo is making a very cute quilt.

  10. You’ll get that hummer figured out, I’m sure! Dumbo is looking good!
