The Pixel Heart quilt is all finished including the binding.  I’ll share a post about all the details later this week but here is a sneak peak.  Our friend Paty will give this quilt to a little girl named Nora who recently lost her mom. Pixel quilting

To-Do #2

Up From Here is nearly a flimsy!  At least the four blocks are all pieced, but now we need to decide on a layout.  That’s where you come in!  Which one would you pick?? First we arranged the squares with all the brown pieces in the center.  They form a plus sign reminiscent of the Red Cross symbol.  Next, we put all the brown pieces in each corner.  That formed a green frame surrounding a background square shape.  Finally, we matched the layout of the pattern in the larger picture.  Which would be your choice?

To-Do #3

The Madd Quilter, Tish’s Fireburst QAL sneaks up on me at the beginning of each month!  At the end of August, I was saying it’s time for the next step . . . and then come September 1st I forget to go and get the instructions.  I need to add an alarm in my phone!  Hmm, that’s a great idea!  The first photo is work in progress shared on IG Sunday morning, while the second one is after the blocks are complete.  How is this going to go together?!!

Lots of beautiful things finishing at your house. I like the green square in the middle the best. It’s such a versatile pattern. I have to get started on mine soon!

  2. I’m excited to see which layout you chose for the Up From Here flimsy finish!

Hello Roseanne, Your quilting on the heart quilt looks fantastic and the little girl who will receive this quilt, I hope that it brings her many years of warmth while cuddling it closely like her Mama’s arms would. For #2, I am voting for #3, the original layout brings out all of the lovely fabrics the best, in my opinion. It will be fun to see which layout that you and Sue do choose. Hi Sue!!! Are you enjoying the students you are teaching this year? Are you both teachers? Oh boy, there went my memory issues. Sorry! Is the Fireburst QAL a year long event? I just love Mystery Quilts but limit myself on the number I do, I already have enough projects going on at the same time. LOL. Quilting is so much fun and there are so many fantastic quilting patterns to choose from. Thank you so much for sharing all of the fun parts of quilting that you do! Seeing what other quilters do and also sharing bits of their lives have always inspired me. I will try and stop by again tomorrow evening and enjoy your post! I actually was able to get the sashing strips put on each of the blocks and so now all I have 4 rows, which I hope to accomplish joining together tomorrow. Have a spectacular evening and day tomorrow!

loving those fireburst fabrics! I vote for the right hand picture but then I have CDO and need things to be as they were – hahaha. Also very glad you shared the quilting on the pixelated heart quilt. I was contemplating doing a similar quilting on the jellyroll quilt I just finished but wasn’t sure – now that I see yours I am totally copying you. Yep – feel free to call me a copy cat!

I vote for the original pattern too.

  10. I like the layout of the pattern (I haven’t started mine yet). I hope to get caught up on Tish’s QAL today.

I like the layout of the pattern:) You are not alone in Tish’s QAL, I am behind too. Hoping to fix that this week(maybe!).
