To-Do #52+16 Weekly Update – OMG Complete

This is our 68th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.  Check it out as other friends post their to-do lists as well! ~smile~

To-Do for the week July 23rd through 29th:

  1. Completely finish and wrap the runners – √ done
  2. Start sewing the Up From Here sew along – √ done
  3. Layout the second Plus Playtime quilt for Luke

To-Do #1

Nicole’s shower was held on Sunday, and we gave her the two runners then.  We followed the suggestion of “Whip It Up Quick” table runner pattern.  They were made in the colors she selected of black, gray and brown.  We threw in some teal as the smallest block just for some interest.  For the backing, Sue found a cute black and gray print so that they might be reversible if they choose.  There was a plant on the table next to me when I was taking the first two pictures, and then William joined us at the shower.  We wish them ALL the happiness in the world.

To-Do #2

We were able to sneak a little time to sew the first block of Up From Here for the sew along.  It was a struggle as we were busy playing with Dominic, and the weather was beautiful.  Who wants to stay inside and sew?!!  Here is the first of six blocks.

To-Do #3

One corner of the quilt is laid out on the design wall.  So I guess that means it is partly done . . . sort of.  More on this next week!

July OMG Goal:

Our Elm Street Quilts July OMG goal is to sew our Christmas in July blog hop mantle/chest quilt.  Thankfully, that is all wrapped up!  We shared it in a post on the 24th for a Christmas in July blog hop but it bears having one more shared picture.

Hello Roseanne; You have been creative and managed to do quite a bit! The table runner is beautiful and you can tell it was the perfect gift with all of the smiles! Your first block has come out beautifully. Using the polka dot background with the matching solids is a fabulous way to make all of the fabrics play together fabulously! Of course, I am thrilled with another look at your Christmas table runner, I really love it. Hope you have a great week creating or just doing fun things outside/inside that you enjoy doing! Did you ever get my email reply?

Yay for a lovely shower gift! My niece liked a photo of the current table topper I am making, and then her shower is this weekend so….do I make her another one and keep mine, or give her mine? I guess it depends on how much I get done this week!

I really like that Up From Here block. It’s a great design. And I agree, it’s difficult to stay inside and sew when it’s so nice outside.
