To-Do #113 Weekly Progress Update

This is the 113th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We usually share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts and at Becca’s What I Made Monday website on Mondays and on Christine’s Stitch All the Things and Dione’s Clever Chameleon website on Tuesdays.  Check out what our friends are sharing!

To-Do for the week of June 3rd through 9th:

  1. Beothuk star blocks together –  done
  2. Sew a few HSTs for Cinderella quilt – √ done
  3. Celebrate Sue’s birthday! – √ done

To-Do #1

The Beothuk QAL that Sandra at mmm Quilts is winding down.  Her last instruction on May 15th or so was to finish sewing the blocks together and then complete the quilt top.  Later this week on the 15th (Saturday) she will be hosting a linky parade highlighting all the participants.  It will be a fun spectacle that really shouldn’t be missed.  A little bit of chain piecing was happening here in this photo prior to some needed pressing!

To-Do #2

Just a few half square triangles pieces were sewn together for the Cinderella quilt.  This is going to open the door for a whole bunch of appliqué pieces for me to do like the carriage and horses for example.  With other more pressing projects requiring some time devoted to them, this may have to briefly take a backstage for now.

Cindy HSTs

To-Do #3

Celebrating Sue’s birthday on the 7th was so much fun.  We both went out to dinner with her parents to Texas Roadhouse.  It is one of our favorite restaurants because their menu is fairly varied.  I love the warm rolls that they serve with honey/cinnamon butter.  YUM!

Then Saturday morning we had the littles.  It was time for a nice walk, although just seconds after I snapped the shot of Dominic and Sue he sat down on the sidewalk.  He had enough of walking, I guess.  Shortly thereafter, he joined his sister in the new double stroller.  We love these early morning strolls.

June OMG

Our June OMG (one monthly goal) is to quilt and bind our Hidden Star quilt.  We linked this goal on Patty’s Elm Street Quilts website and linky party.

To-Do for the week of June 10th through 16th

  1. Start quilting our June OMG project
  2. Get Beothuk ready for the parade post on Saturday
  3. Layer the Harley quilt for completion

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

Ooh, I see you’ve got a Bloc Loc ruler in the photo with those HSTs! That reminds me that I bought one of those on another blogger’s recommendation, but haven’t given it a try yet. How much do you oversize your HST units when you know you’ll be trimming them down with that tool?

Hello Roseanne, Tell Sue that I am glad that she got to celebrate her Birthday with her parents at a nice restaurant. I always love to do that myself. I am looking forward to seeing more on both of these quilts! I have to stop and buy some fabrics for my stockings today to make the tops, but slowly making progress. Temps are supposed to be in the 100’s here this week, I may move in with my Mom since our air conditioner is not in yet. LOL. I hope that you have a great day!!

  5. You have a great week planned. Looking forward to seeing how you quilt Hidden Stars, what Beothuk looks like AND the appliqué you choose for the new quilt.

  6. Quilts look lovely. I like the grays.

  7. Fun to see hints of your Beothuk Star quilt, Roseanne! I was working on the borders for mine yesterday. Texas Roadhouse is one of our favorite places to go out for a birthday dinner, and “Yes, please!” On those delicious rolls!

  8. Look like a glorious morning for a walk, Roseanne.
I noticed the color palette on the to-do #2. I like how greys have become a type of neutral to contrast&blend with yellows, golds, oranges, teals etc.

  9. My plan was to get Beothuk quilted this weekend, but I messed up my back quilting the star quilt, so it was all resting this weekend. You have some good goals for the week!
