To-Do #104+1 Weekly Update

This is our 105th edition of our weekly to-do list.  We share this post on Beth’s Cooking Up Quilts and at Becca’s What I Made Monday website on Mondays, and Christine’s Stitch All the Things website on Tuesdays.  Check out what our friends are sharing!

To-Do for the week of April 8th through 14th:

  1. Work on the Bee Hive April blocks – √ done
  2. Start sewing strips for Sue’s next project – √ done
  3. Appliqué another umbrella – done √

To-Do #1

Ripple is the name of the block that Jen chose for April.  She sent all the Bee Hive members the center cacti fabric to base our fabric choices off of.  We made all 72 of the HSTs this weekend.

To-Do #2

The next hand quilting project for Sue is closer to being ready to go.  Sue cut up 15 strips from each of the lighter and darker blue batik yardage.  I got to work sewing them together and pressing them open.  Back and forth these strips go between us, as she then slices them into 2″ segments for me to resew into a nine-patch.  I l.o.v.e. these fabrics; they’re so nice to work with.

Aren’t they just so pretty?!!?

To-Do #3

Appliqué blocks are going to be on the list each and every week so that we can make our April goal.  This weekend I finished two umbrella blocks.  Next weekend with it being Easter will limit our sewing time.

  2. Get the Baby Batik Dark quilt top all together for Sue
  3. Continue on with the appliqué umbrella blocks!

72 hst blocks! That was some sewing party you two had! Those batiks are beautiful, and I just love how you work as a team, cut, pass off, sew, cut, pass off, sew. Better than Lucy and Ethyl on the candy conveyor. Have a great week!
