Tic Tac Toe Part Deux IG Honeybees

After joining our first Bee Hive group called the IG Honeybees in January, the first block we made was the Tic Tac Toe block.  We are revisiting this sweet block for August!

January Queen Selection

Jan from Cocoa Quilts is our first queen, and her selection is the Tic Tac Toe block.  All members choose blocks which are found on the Blossom Heart Quilts website.  Finally, two finished blocks were sent to Jan along with a few goodies.

August Tic Tac Toe

Sandy is the Queen of our beehive this month, and her color choices are white-on-white, lime/bright green, ocean blue, and a combination of lime/ocean in the center “X”.

We found a nice unopened Island Batik 10″ square layer pack in our stash called Wind and Sea Batiks.  Doesn’t that sound like just the perfect set of fabrics for this block?!

I wanted to share each block individually so that you could get a good look at the center fabrics.  Most importantly, they seem to meet Sandy’s quest well in combining the lime and ocean blue.

And then one last picture of them together.  I hope Sandy likes them and that they go well with the blocks she receives from other beehive members.

Certainly, this block is a definite contender for our choice as the October block for the beehive.  So many great blocks, so hard to decide!

  11. Roseanne, I really like how your blocks turned out. I wasn’t that crazy about having to find center fabrics that combined blue and green, but once we learned that batiks were okay, it all worked out very nicely! Have a great day! Mary
