Spring Wave Baby Quilt is Finished

Earlier this year Sue wanted a hand quilting project to keep her busy.  Pulling a charm pack that was designated as a “boy quilt” from stash, this quilt has more blue in it than what we usually work on.  While Sue started placing the pieces on the design wall, I was busy sewing strips for the nine-patch squares.

Spring Forward

Back in January when the layout was shared from our design wall, Sandy at Gray Barn Designs said she liked the color wave formed.  It reminded her of Spring, and the name was coined from that.  We agree that it certainly does look like spring.

Hand Quilting Commenced

Sue and I layered the quilt top, batting and backing adding pins along the way.  We hooped it up (literally) and the hand quilting began.  That was back around the end of January, and here it is just two months later with the quilting complete.

A pretty yellow is the choice for the binding, and it will make a nice frame don’t you think?

Spring has Sprung

Sue chose several fun shapes for hand quilting, like a heart, triangle, and square.

We are happy this quilt is a wrap!  It is time to select a new hand quilting project for Sue!

Hello Roseanne, This quilt is a lovely spring baby quilt! I am glad that you chose to show it off with its own post. It always amazes me how a simple layout can be the most desired quilt by everyone. I think it is because people are not afraid of cuddling with it and really using it. Plus, when you add the special hand quilting like Sue has done it just makes this quilt all that more precious and lovable! Whoever receives this precious beautiful quilt is sure receiving a treasure filled with love! Sue you did do a magnificent hand quilting job and I smiled at every comment praising you!
