School’s Out For Summer

Well, almost out but I couldn’t find a cute image that included “almost.”  Just a few more days for our students and teachers and then . . .

Summer Fun

What do your plans for the summer include?  Anything fun and/or exciting?  We are taking a drive to Mount Rushmore.  We have never been to South Dakota – that checks off the box for one of the nine states we have not yet visited.  I am really looking forward to see this along with the Crazy Horse monument.  From walking through the Avenue of Flags to seeing the magnitude of the monuments in stone, I know it will be awesome.

How does this tie into quilting?  Well, there will be quilt stores visited along the way and in South Dakota.  How could we not plan a few shop visits?

Lay Low Summer?

One other aspect of summer that we enjoy is just time off.  Time away from work and school to visit with our peeps.  Sewing and quilting time galore, and time to regroup and make plans.  Of course, we have a new baby to enjoy at the end of summer. ~big smile~

I save a majority of my vacation days to take off during the summer.  It is convenient for my job in a school district, as well as for me.  I try to take off Fridays to make three-day weekends the norm.  This allows me to schedule appointments on those Fridays, and this summer we should really get some major sewing and quilting complete.  Sounds good in theory, right?!

How about you – what is on your docket?  Finish up some WIPs (work in process) or start something new?  Travel or enjoy home time with family and friends?  We’d love to hear! ~smile~
