Postcard Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

I have been remiss and I apologize deeply for it.  We participated in Sandra at mmm Quilts Postcard from Sweden quilt along.  This project, from start to finish was charmed.  First, I had never heard of this gorgeous quilt before Shannon at The Flemings Nine shared her finished version.  I happened to see it on Instagram and fell in love.  Here’s a peek at our flimsy and the tempting picture that Corner-to-Corner sent me while quilting it.

The next series of events were just written in the stars.  We ordered a bundle of fabrics for this project but not all the colors were included.  Missing, handily enough were most of the blue from our Regatta quilt project.  We had plenty leftover – how cool is that?!

Postcard QAL

All of that is just great and fine, as who amongst us doesn’t have some fabrics that are planned for a project that just never happens?  That is where this project would have remained had it not been for Sandra, Helen and their quilt along!  On Wednesday, April 18th I was quite happy to share our Postcard flimsy post on her linky party.  It was a parade of finished Postcard quilts, well worth your time to check out from the link above!  I went and visited what other people had shared about their beautiful finishes.  It is so fun to think that there are so many people enjoying their own Postcard quilt.

Postcard Giveaway Winner

Last Sunday, I received an email from Sandra.  The subject was Winner!!  What?!  I opened the email, not having any idea what wonderful news it contained.  Sandra informed me that the random number generator chose #8 and that was my entry to the linky party.  I had won a $75 gift certificate to Stitch Stash Diva.  It is an Etsy shop with TONS and TONS of fabrics to choose from.  OMG!  How on earth am I ever going to be able to select a few fabrics from the hundreds they offer.  You MUST check out their shop.

Postcard Thank You

So, here is my post about the lucky win.  Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Helen and Sandra for the idea of the quilt along.  Thank you again to Shannon for the original inspiration (she shares her beauties for sale in her Etsy shop) with the pretty yellow pillow shams.  And a huge thank you to Tayva at Stitch Stash Diva for sponsoring the QAL.  It is funny, but when I was the 8th poster on Sandra’s linky party, I thought hmm, #8 is never very lucky for me.  I guess I need to banish that thought from now on.  I’ll be sharing the finished Postcard quilt soon.  It is back from the quilters, and I need to finish the binding.  I will also share the lovelies we select from Tayva – I know you’ll want to see!

Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!
