July OMG Project Projects Positivity
Here it is July already and it’s time to select something to focus on for our monthly One Monthly Goal (OMG). Patty at Elm Street Quilts hosts a linky party at the beginning and end of each month. We’ll link up with her now and then again to share our success, hopefully, at the end of the month.
While we are easing into the second half of 2021, it is exciting that the future looks so much brighter than it did just a mere six months ago. School, in all probability, will resume in August with our students still wearing masks. However, the bright noteworthy points are that all of the clear desk shields are being put into storage. With any luck, they will NEVER be needed again. Just a few short weeks ago Sue and I were able to enjoy a birthday dinner with my sister. Excitement just doesn’t sum up the emotions that were shared and displayed during that meal. Real hugs – in person – with family!!!!!!
Even More July Excitement
Now that our littles are getting a wee bit older, we are hosting the first annual doll buggy parade. Surely it will become a yearly event, with crowds lining the streets and many participants. However, this year will feature four little people, a.k.a., our littles. Working hard and diligently this evening, Gamma, Auntie Sue, and Auntie Rose wielded the red, white, and blue crepe paper. Want a little sneak peek of the one (and only) true doll buggy? Well, that can be arranged . . . although you will have to wait for the rest of the pictures.
The purple doll buggy has been transformed into a patriotic stroller complete with two babies eagerly waiting for Addison to arrive. Also in the staging area in full regalia are two full-size strollers and a wagon. The big event happens today at 11 a.m. Be there or be square!
Needless to say, with all this ongoing excitement, sewing has been at a minimum. Thus, an easy, mindless One Monthly Goal project is necessary. To the rescue comes the Positivity QAL. We will definitely get our first Positivity cornered plus sign quilt top all assembled. Definitely! Extra points will be awarded and amazement will be shared if the second Positivity quilt top is started. What?! A second Positivity quilt, you ask. Yes, you heard it here first and the fabric has already been selected.
Cornered plus blocks waiting to be made . . . and fabric for Positivity number two using a different plus block and layout. Oooh, the suspension is building!
