I Love Thursday #95
This is the 95th post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Big Boy locomotive! Big Boy steam locomotive #4014 passed through Racine county recently. The Union Pacific train was participating in the Great Race Across the Midwest as part of the anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869. The train passed just blocks from our house, and Sue’s stepdad is a huge train enthusiast.

Signs of Summer! My boss shared this appealing little .jpg picture with me in a newsletter, and I thought it was so cute. It just screams summer and having fun while staying cool. I’ll bet a certain sweet boy would like to get his choppers on one of these. His sister, too, probably since she is teething – that would feel good on her gums.
Love #3
Italian Fest fireworks! Our local Italian community hosts a festival each year. We are blessed to have diversity so we can sample foods and enjoy customs different from our own. Fireworks are a fun part of Italian Fest and a friend took this photo capturing them along with our USA flag. It was a beautiful night to enjoy the fireworks.
Love #4
Peace lily again! A few weeks ago I showed you my peace lily with four blossoms that were about to open. They have now opened and are sending out the peaceful vibe. I’ll need all of those vibes I can get as students return in just two weeks. It’s going to get c.r.a.z.y around these parts.
Love #5
Linky parties! I’m going to delve into the Linky party pool. Starting next Tuesday, I’m going to be hosting the To-Do Tuesday linky party that Christine used to host at Stitch All the Things. She decided to stop blogging for now and concentrate on other things, and asked me if I’d like to take over the reigns. Now, if I can figure out how to make a button/link . . . and other stuff, Tuesday the 13th will be the first. I hope maybe you’ll consider joining in.

Give Dominic a good hill to run down and he’ll happily do it. Thankfully, the nearby local park has a hill just his size. Also very fascinating is a clear container – both of them were captivated for quite a while. Addison will happily model for you, working the fancy headgear (with the favorite winter hat of her brother right behind her!). Auntie Rose sent an Amazon goodie box to the house and Addison says the box is just her size! Saturday movie nights are made for babies who are woken up by their brother before he goes to bed. I wonder if she enjoyed that movie? Someone turned seven months already last Sunday, and her new parlor trick is clapping. Momma happened to catch her in mid-clap during her very first shopping cart ride. Yay Addi! <clap> <clap> <clap> ♥ ♥ ♥
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
So fast, growing so fast, sigh…but so dang cute! The week starts well now, I can make it through…
Addison is already 7 months! Wow the time is going fast, she is one pretty little girl and every time I check, the kids are getting bigger and bigger! Have a wonderful week!
What great things are happening in your life. Our students went back this last Monday, which I think is a little early – but they get out about May 20, so maybe not. But yes, it is, too! LOL The train is wonderful. Paul and I used to train chase in Chama, NM, where the train goes from Chama, NM to Antonito, CO. We did it over and over and had so much fun every time. I would have loved seeing that train on the way to Promontory, Utah!
Those little ones are photogenic aren’t they.
You will have fun with the links party Roseanne. I always wish I was organized enough to join in that one.
Wonderful photos all. Train, fireworks, Popsicles and babies. I now I know that I used to own LOTS of peace lillies…babies off the main one. Good luck with the coming school year.
So many great likes. Missed the pics of Dominick and Addison the last few weeks.
Oh, lots of good likes. Fireworks are fun! How cool to see a big old train. Good luck with the linky party!
Love the fireworks! So cool that you had them as part of one of the local celebrations. And your peace lily is fabulous- I’m glad you shared it. Four blooms at once!! Awesome!
Oh I’m so excited for you, I hope I can remember your linky party. Once you have it all lined out I will add it to my link page.
Yay! I wondered if you were the one C had talked to. So cute, as always, those two.
Great post Roseanne! I love trains also — how cool to have the Big Boy near you! Your peace lily is growing like crazy — I moved mine outdoors and is doing well also. The kiddos are so cute — you can definitely tell that are related both have such happy faces! I may have to join you with the linky party — I’m not organized — ha ha 🙂
Wow- great post-so many cool things to see and watch. Of course, those little cuties are adorable. Yummy Italian delicacies. I’m really liking that day lily-so healthy. I really would like to get one for the living room. Best wishes on going back to school!

Oh, the Big Boy! We haven’t seen him in person, but Mike is fascinated with those locomotives so we’ve been reading about them and watching videos, too. I love that you’re going to host that linky party, Roseanne – I will definitely join in. Cute pictures of the kiddos, as always! There’s no better toy than an empty box or plastic container!
those babies! I found out I was adopted and my birth father was full Italian first gen. Woohoo! Great that you’ll be hosting the party! Thanks for keeping it going! Cute popsicles
Happy week!
So happy for you hosting on Tuesday. Its easy to make the link (less easy to use for giveaways). Let me know if I can help or sub once in awhile!
Fun stuff in this post, Roseanne! Glad you’re picking up the linky party. I’ll try to organize myself so I can participate. Those kiddos are growing so fast!
