I Love Thursday #51
This is our 51st post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Dachshunds! Our local Humane animal shelter is building a new center. I was absolutely delighted to see this sitting on the corner where it will be built soon. Isn’t this wonderful?! I rarely drive by this area but Sue drives past it almost daily. Don’t you think she might have mentioned we have a larger-than-life version near us, and it should definitely be included in our Love post?!!
Love #2
Inspiration! I saw this saying on Facebook recently, and thought this was just so very true. Whether you take it literally, with traffic delaying you on your journey and you miss the car accident that happened to someone else. Or you take it in the general, overall sense, I do believe there is a plan for all of us and sometimes we need a stall. Even when we don’t think we need one.
Love #3
Ann! A friend of mine recently lost her mother. Her mother, Ann, had a fabulous life. She lived a good long time, got to enjoy her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and most of all her garden and flowers. This little poem is so sweet, and I know that my friend holds her mom in her heart forever. Maybe some of you will find some comfort in these words.
Love #4
Dominic and Zeus! If only you could see the delight on Dominic’s face as he discovered his friend and best buddy, Zeus, outside. And that little tuft of hair sticking up. We love this baby.
And I cannot share just one picture of Dominic. Here he is enjoying his new Elmo slippers (thanks Mom) on Packer Sunday. With his Elmo chair enjoying the new slipper addition. ~smile~
That’s it for this week! We hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday! See you next week with more loves; it will be a year of sharing!

A lovely week of good things. That dachshund is something! Dominic is my favorite, though. =)
OMG an Elmo chair? Snap! That was Brady’s favourite for ages, that we bought him. Elmo was always his favourite. You’ve brought a tear or two to my eye with the mother poem. Going to share it with Dayna as she’s looking for some meaningful items to have on Nana’s chair (which will be so very sadly, empty) at her wedding.
Well, that’s one snart baby, he backs the Pack!!! I share a BD with Bart Starr, my idol at age 9!!
Ah, number 2. LB cowan, a godly woman, and author of Streams in the Desert, talks about the rest in a musical piece. She points out that it is as much needed at each note. Yes, I am thankful for delay. And that fluff of blond hair !
Dominic is so cute! My grandfather was always a huge packers fan even though none of us are from that area. Now even though I don’t watch football, I always cheer a bit when they win and think of him!
Dom is sooooooooooo cute! He looks more grown up every photo you share! Love the Elmo slippers!!! I love the red daschund and have to show that to my friend who has two! Have a wonderful week! Hugs!
I love the idea of a “stall”….I had a much needed stall this week. That is one amazing red dog!
That dachshund is pretty cool!
Oh, I love that poem- it’s wonderful! I’ll have to save it for the future. 🙂 The big red dachshund is a fun sculpture! Cute picture of Dominic and his dog, too! I love how tickled little guys get when they spy someone special.
We love dachshunds here!! Have a grand-pup named Manny!
oooo that dachshund statue… so cool. Love the baby/doggie connection too
Lets see what happens with my post today;) I always love seeing how much D changes from week to week and his expressions!
Clifford the Big Red Dog has nothing on you; you have Spike The Big Red Dachshund! Hahaha!
