I Love Thursday #45

This is our 45th post of things we love for the week.  We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color.  Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out.  You will surely find something to inspire you.

Love #1

Invitations!  We received a very special, hand delivered invitation to a first birthday party.  We RSVP’d rather quickly.  In case you were wondering, with a “Yes.”  We even have his present already, but I don’t dare tell you what.  He might hear about it before it’s time.  We wouldn’t want that now would we. ~smile~

My dentist!  I have a cracked tooth and I thought I was going to have a root canal to begin fixing it.  Luckily I wasn’t having pain (!!) so I asked if we could skip that part and go right to a crown.  Yes, he thought so as long as I wasn’t having any pain.  Can I say yippee skippy to missing out on part one?!!  Phew, I feel like I’ve dodged a BIG bullet.

Love #3

Online fabrics.  I have been a fan of ordering from MSQC (Missouri Star Quilt Company) for a number of years.  They went through a spell of very poor service when ordering yardage.  I believe that issue was around the end of 2017/beginning of 2018, as I had ordered fabric for Postcard.  Since then, they have updated their software and apologized to their customers.  I finally gave them another try, ordering yardage just the other week.  It was a pleasant surprise to find that it arrived in a timely manner!  I like ordering online – it is easy with a fabulous selection – but find we need to support our local quilt shop as well.  Plus, isn’t it just fun to go browsing through the bolts and get inspired by their models or just the fabric itself?!

Love #4

I had so many cute photos of Dominic this week that I just couldn’t choose!  So you get them all to enjoy.  First is GG Tom giving him a bottle while Dad waits to take him home.  Then we have Mr. eleven-months old saying yeah, I can walk when I hold on to something (like 20 steps behind his lion!).  Third, Dominic enjoying the slide in the park near my work.  They came for a surprise visit and I was delighted!  He thought the slide ride was pretty nifty.  And finally, he is helping Grandma Janice wrap some presents.  He had the ribbon wrapped all around himself – he just needed a bow!

We love this baby!  That’s it for this week!  We hope your week is filled with many blessings.  Happy Thursday!

  1. Hi Roseanne, loved your post! I’ve been MIA and haven’t been able to keep up with your writings! I too went through a bad spell with MSQC and recently made a purchase and it arrived timely. Love Love the Dominic slideshow….what a cutie!

  2. You certainly have so much to be thankful for. I enjoyed watching the slideshow of Dominic. I can’t believe he is going to be a year old already! They grow up so fast. 😊

Hi Roseanne, wonderful likes and the star who is turning 1!! already. What an adorable child, I don’t mind repeating myself.
I do use online shopping and also support a local store. I like having packages come in the mail the old fashioned way. Just to treat myself sometimes and take advantage of sales.
I am so glad you did not need root canal..whatever it entails sounds horrid…I now sport two crowns and have been very happy with them.

  4. Dominic is a cutie. I like to feel my fabrics before buying them, but I’ve had a few good online experiences. I’m glad that MSQC pulled themselves together. It’s so nice when you find a reliable shop!

  5. Very happy week indeed! 😊 We can never see enough pictures of the precious cutie Dominic!

Hey! 45!! I’ve not ordered from MSQ yet but they are always tempting. Today I bought a painting kit instead of quilting stuff… congrats on the tooth, oy vey!

I rarely buy online…I like touching and seeing the fabric up close. Grandbabies are the best!

Dominic is so adorable! And I’m so glad you didn’t need a root canal. Good luck with the crown!!

  10. I’m so impressed with your slide show, Roseanne! The pictures are fun to see, and you can show them all to us! Happy 1st birthday to Dominic!

I have trouble buying on-line too. I always wonder if my computer screen is displaying the “real” color. Thanks for the Dominic pics!

  12. All good things for you this week! I don’t mind online shopping, but do like to touch and feel the fabric, as well as being able to see the actual color. Sometimes I think that’s a bit more difficult online. Enjoy that party for little man!
