I Love Thursday #39

This is our 39th post of things we love for the week.  We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color.  Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out.  You will surely find something to inspire you.

Love #1

Summer Reading.  Our school staff have a chance to participate in summer reading.  This book struck me, not for its quality content but rather a possible quilt.  Can’t you see this in a library bookcase quilt?  Or just in this order as in the color of a rainbow, I think it is beautiful.

Love #2

Easy assembly stroller.  Remember that stroller I bought from Kohl’s for Dominic?  The box said easy assembly.  Right, and we have a bridge for sale that we’re practically giving away.  Uncle John to the rescue!  He has been assembling many of Dominic’s toys, swings and strollers.  It took the PRO 35 minutes!!  Seriously.  We documented it surely for prosperity purposes only.  The red thing is an awning to keep the sun and rain out of his eyes.  Right, we’ll use that – then we can’t see him at all!  Geez.

Love #3

Evie Blackwell book series.  My sister recommended a new author, Dee Henderson.  She has several books but the one I chose to start with is Evie Blackwell.  It is a detective who focuses on unsolved cold cases.  I borrowed Traces of Quilt from the library, and just finished in on the flight home from vacation.  It was good, and it has several other stories woven into the searching and solving.  I’ve put the second book on hold at the library as well, called Threads of Suspicion.  I would give it a try if you are looking for a new author.

Love #4

Private series from James Patterson.  Also on vacation I read Princess from the Private series, book #15.  This one is a suspenseful and sometimes rather violent book, but it keep me coming back to sneak a few pages any chance I got.  Fifteen books to work your way through is cool, and I would also recommend these.  The usual basic theme is a private security/investigation company that rescues people who have been kidnapped or the like.  There are definitely some nail-biter moments in each book!

Love #5

Here Dominic is enjoying the stroller Uncle John put together for him in #2.  He is smiling adoringly at Auntie Sue after awaking from a little nap.  He fell asleep almost as soon as he got in his new stroller so he missed most of our first stroll.  Thankfully, we will have many more for him to enjoy.

that rainbow reading is really pretty! I have to check out both authors new to me. I seem to be falling asleep after two pages lately which means it takes a L o n g time to finish a book!
I would say stop pushing that baby around! lol but he seems to be gleefully enjoying it! lol

I can see a bookcase quilt there especially for you readers. I have a James Patterson on my download now but don’t remember which one…he is quite prolific, isn’t he. I think you would like Louise Penny too.
Great stroller and that little fellow just can’t get any cuter!

We love Dee Henderson books. Enjoy! An author we have recently discovered is Terri Blackstock. The series of three starting with “If I Run” is one we really enjoyed. We have read others by the same author that we liked also, but we have started a new series of three that I’m not sure about. The book we are reading now is “Cape Refuge.” I will hold off recommending this series, but I do recommend the “If I Run” series.

  6. I always love your book recommendations! Will have to check them out to see what I can find from my library. Even the teacher book looks like a good one – when you’re a retired teacher like me, you never really stop being interested in classroom things! 🙂 Great smile on Dominic in his new stroller!

    Dominic is absolutely adorable!

Oh that number 5!!! yes yes. hoping you have many many more happy strolls with that cutie pie!

  9. I hope Uncle John gets some sort of reward for all that assembly work. That was my job for my brother’s boys, back when all the GIJoe stuff came with minute little stickers to add to the planes, tanks and whatnot. I’m pretty sure my brother gauged the purchase around how many little stickers there were, just for me. So treat Uncle John well, for me. I’m going to check out Evie Blackwell. I’ve read some Dee Henderson years ago. My current favorite author is Louise Penny.
