I Love Thursday #259 Prolific Blessings

This is the 259th post of things we love for the week. We post each Thursday along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share weekly – be sure to check them out as you will surely find something to inspire you. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

Love #1

Conversations! I’ve always been a chatty Cathy so to speak. I was the student that the teacher had to move to different groups in an effort to shut me up. Not to worry, that didn’t work as I can talk to anyone. I’m still that way and am more than happy to chat while someone else is cooking! Clean-up duty is my thang.

Love #2

Ninja Turtle ornaments! Last week, I shared a picture of Colt with his growing Ninja Turtle collection. I forgot to mention that he had a Ninja-themed Christmas tree complete with these Ninja ornaments that his mom made. Aren’t they cool? She made them from clear ball ornaments that she picked up at Michael’s. Colt’s favorite is Leo, or Leonardo to those who aren’t on an abbreviated name basis. I’m fairly certain that Leo is the one in blue!

They wanted me to ask! What a well-mannered squirrel taking care of his birdie friends. Wendy, this is for you.

Love #4

Declan’s National Park quilt! We received a sweet update on the National Park quilt we made for Declan last August. At the baby shower, the mom-to-be was thrilled with the result. We’re more interested in the final recipient! What a happy boy Declan is at two months. I’d love to just pick him up!

Love #5

Our littles . . . are fab but last week was Addison’s fifth birthday on the 4th. We celebrated on the 5th which is now officially called the Addison Awesome Adventure Day. Addison informed everyone (and their brother) about her upcoming A3 Day when she returned to school from holiday break. First, Auntie Sue and I picked up Addison at school. Her teacher knew to expect us, so she came skipping over at 10:15 without issue. She had her recess snow pants and boots on which we disposed of shortly. Next, the A3 shopping portion of the day began. We picked up some Stok cold brew coffee for Auntie Rose and then we stopped in the bicycle aisle. Well, yes. Addison thought she might like some streamers and a BELL for her new two-wheel bicycle. Those are beautiful, she declared, and she loves them. After that, we went to the baby/Barbie aisle.

Love #5 continued a.k.a. A3 Day

Did you know she is collecting the Princess Barbies? She was missing Belle, which is Auntie Sue’s very favorite. Nearby, we found baby Ariel. This baby comes with a removable tiara and a bottle. Notable for the next purchase . . . a baby in a car carrier just like baby Maverick! Baby Ariel also fits in this car seat which we found quite delightful. Last, but not least, is the stuffed unicorn. It is so soft and it makes up for not being able to find an Addison-sized tiara. Lunch comprised of chicken nuggets and fries accompanied by an episode or three of Cocomelon. Addison posed with her loot! After some puzzle and game time she self-imposed a “quiet time” on Auntie Sue’s bed watching Bluey.

We call A3 Day a great success. Baby Ariel is THE favorite gift, by the way. She has been a constant companion ever since A3 Day including a spin on the new bicycle in our basement. We’ll keep looking for an appropriate tiara since her last one was broken by her brother. That’s boys for you. There were three tired girls at the end of the day. Happy Thursday to each of you.

  2. Hubs and I had a big laugh over the squirrel – he must be a cousin of the big fat one that resides in our yard. What a wonderful idea to have an A3 day! She sure is a cutie. Love the quilt for Declan, and I’ll get in line to pick him up. 🙂
I apologize for missing so many of your posts. Although I signed up for notification, I don’t receive them, and I need to just start checking to see if you have posted. But I do “see” you on IG. 😀

  4. I love those ornaments. I had a friends whose son had an obsession with the Ninja Turtles. He’s a dad himself now! I miss the days of buying Barbies. I still have some of my old ones. Your littles aren’t so little anymore!!

I love the turtle ornaments! I loved TMNT when I was in college. Cute (and no doubt bad) squirrel. LOL

  8. Declan’s quilt is gorgeous! That squirrel is just too cute standing their begging! LOL Happy birthday, Addison! It looks like you had a great day! I can’t believe she’s five already! Oh, those Ninja Turtle ornaments are just the best!! So cute!

  9. What a fabulous shopping day with Addison. I laughed at your talking when in school and being moved about. As a teacher I was the mover. But really when you think about it, talking is a great skill to have and much needed in life, so good on you.

The National Park quilt is gorgeous and so is the sweetie on it!

  11. My how they grow and yeah I sound like an -ahem- older person but it doesn’t seem very long ago (how can it be 30 years?!) since my daughters were 5…. Glad you had a great day and I hope you complied with the squirrel’s I mean birds’ request!

  12. Laura says:

    The Ninja ornaments are great!
Addison can’t be five already!!!!! Happy birthday! What an awesome way to spend A day…she really does have the most devoted Aunties!
I know he isn’t one of my squirrels, mine are cream breasted red tree squirrels, but he certainly acts like one of them! 🙂

Oh, Wow! A to the third power day! This will live in history and have to be repeated every year! What a fun bunch of gifts. I CAN cook and talk at the same time but would really rather have someone do all of it…cook and clean! Those squirrel memes I keep seeing (thank you) are so cute. But I don’t want them in my yard. And as for snow, 6″ last night! Hugs.

Love Triple A day, such a fun tradition for a birthday. Those Ninja Turtle ornaments are really neat. What a fun list for a Thursday.

  15. Vicki in MN says:

Wow Addy scored very well for her birthday!! I can tell the adults had bunches of fun too😉

  16. Wendy says:

Well, I am pretty sure that squirrel is one of my crew – LOL! They do get rather put out when the birdseed and nuts are at a low ebb. They have come up to the window, but seeing Wilbs staring them down gives them a little pause (paws??). Happy Birthday, Addison! What a fun day for her – and she picked all the best gifts! You two are Awesome Aunties! You and I should not be put together if anyone expects anything to get done – we’d be too busy talking (I would love that!)

There’s just no such thing as “enough Barbies.”
