I Love Thursday #258 Copious Blessings

This is the 258th post of things we love for the week. We post each Thursday along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share every week – be sure to check them out as you will surely find something to inspire you. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

Walk the Walk Challenge! The start of a new year is the perfect time for resolutions or a focus on good health. I’ve heard from some reader friends that they have taken the Walk the Walk Challenge to heart, and have begun to get more steps in their day. I can’t tell you how happy that makes me feel and how inspiring. Cheree (The Morning Latte) and I started the challenge back in 2023 to keep each other motivated with a tracking buddy. We have both been keeping the challenge in the back of our minds we day/week with success. If you’d like to join us, please do. There’s no formal check-in needed or required . . . but please know that if you do join in, we are with you all the way.

Now that Sue and I have retired, we have set a goal of 10,500 steps a day. Most days, it is a breeze to do while other days, not so much. Somehow, we do keep each other on track. I just love having my goal met by 10:00 a.m. with any additional steps gained as frosting on the cake. So, join in or not – set a goal or not – I’m always walking by 7:00 a.m. and will think of you.

Give of yourself! This seems to be the perfect time to share this thought after the holiday season. Thanksgiving and Christmas seem to be the big gathering holidays of family and friends. Spending time with your loves is truly priceless and can’t be beat. Of course, we get our littles gifts and love to see them open them. But even more enjoyable is the gathering – the sharing of yourself and your time is priceless. We’ve all got just 24 hours a day to spend as we see fit. I’m spending mine so I’m rich with blessings.

Love #3

It’s been so long since I shared a Love post! Without further ado . . . Our littles . . . Addison posed with a Santa poster at Dominic’s holiday concert that seems ages ago. Colt was happy to show GG how to do something on the iPad. The Ninja Turtle collection of Colt’s grew and grew over the holiday. Speaking of ninjas, Dominic started a ninja class and he loves the rings. Fortunately, one is never too old to sit on Auntie Rose’s lap thank heavens.

Maverick is so happy to see Gamma and gives her a nice smile. Addison is happy to hold her cousin but they have to take turns. Auntie Sue (or Auntie Dew, if you ask Chase) had a lap full of love over winter break. Finally, we’re never too old to enjoy Sesame Street and have a snack. Happy Thursday to you!

What a great post! Love that you have kept up and are increasing your walking goal. For now, I am doing 2 workouts at the gym, 2 yoga sessions and some additional which means I need to add in a few more, but that will come! Gratitude for presence was one of the things I really felt this year during our celebrations. The Littles are getting so big and that Maverick…what a cutie.

Roseanne – Love #2 is terrific – one of my goals for 2024 is to have a more generous spirit. It might take the form of material things, but more importantly, it is changing the way I think about things – to be generous in my thoughts. Maybe that will resonate with you. Of course, I always love seeing the photos of the kiddos – that is quite a Ninja collection!

Such cute littles! I love how dedicated you are to walking. I bought a Fitbit last year to motivate me to have more steps. It’s still in the box! Guess I better get it out. Happy New Year!

  5. Kate says:

Oh the littles have grown so much since the last time I saw pictures. They all look so happy. Good luck with your walking challenge. I do ok on the steps most days, my goal this year is flexibility so lots of yoga in the cards.

Happy New Year! It’s been awhile since I checked in…the family looks great. Congrats with the walking goal, I should join in.
    Your quote was perfect.

  7. Sally says:

I’m jealous that you’re walking that much. I really need to learn how to take breaks from work. Glad to see you back again. 🙂

  8. Connie says:

Wow, they are growing so quickly! Love the updated photos! Thank you! As for getting something done by morning, at this point just existing without grumping after not being able to sleep at night is my major accomplishment by 10 AM! LOL

  9. Chrisknits says:

Oh my, those littles are changing so much!! I do hope your days are full of those adorable faces!!

  10. Cheree Hull says:

Okay, I think the only days I could meet that goal by 10am is when I’m golfing! In these winter months it’s so up and down but I’m getting there with my treadmill more and more. Took too many days off over the holidays! Love your quote–so very true!

  11. Rochelle Summers says:

Happy New Year. I used to be out walking at 7 AM. But not so industrious now. Retirement will be so much fun. Love the photos of the littles. So good to see a baby in there because the others are growing so fast. They all look so happy. How wonderful they have so many Grandmas and Aunties to love them. Hugs to both of youl

  12. Way to go on keeping up with your walking goals, Roseanne! I have had a new year’s cold this week, so have not gone for a walk for a few days, and boy, am I missing it. Maverick is a cutie! I bet retirement will give you both more time to spend with those sweet kids!

And snuggled up under a quilt watching TV is the best! Keep up the good work on the walking.

  14. Tracie says:

Your Thursday posts always make me smile!

  15. Wendy Tuma says:

You and Cheree are doing great with your walking. I can imagine having all those steps in my 10 am make the rest of the day seem like a reward. I should join in, but I know I’d not keep up! The littles! So fun to see them again!
