I Love Thursday #223 Blessings Plenteous

This is the 223rd post of things we love for the week. We post each Thursday along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis ā€“ be sure to check them out as you will surely find something to inspire you. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

Gratitude! Isn’t this just the perfect meme for our Thursday postings?!! Enough said.

Inner Voice! Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you disagree with a person, they start yelling at you and calling you names? Fortunately, that doesn’t happen to me often but it did just yesterday. I subscribe to our local newspaper, and I commented on an editorial. “Anonymous” took umbrage and started ranting and calling me names. First of all, it is easy to hide behind anonymity, and secondly, why stoop to name calling? Just because we disagree, we can still get along. Isn’t that what we teach our children and students? Are we so removed from that lesson that we no longer need to apply it? If someone is loud and shouting that you can’t do something, go prove them wrong. You do you!

Bicycle Race! The Tour of America’s Dairyland competitive road race series made its way to our neck of the woods. Rightly so, since Wisconsin IS all about dairyland. It was a huge event with food trucks, a stage for music, cyclists sharing biking information, and several races. I love seeing the pace car leading the pack of bikers followed by the cleanup car (I don’t know its formal name)! The speed these bikes go is just AMAZING.

What? Why? I saw this GIF of President Obama and had to laugh. After the weekend we had (see Tuesday’s post that wasn’t a To-Do update at all), it was just so fitting. There were several times I was doing this exact same motion with no words. No words are needed – the expression and hand gestures say it all, don’t they? By the way, I’m pretty darn impressed with myself for figuring out how to add a .gif file in Word Press. Woot woot!

Our littles . . . our growing and changing each day. Colty has been against hats since day one. Well, he kept his newborn hat on. Then he saw an Ah-ah-ah The Count hat, and he was all in. I imagine he’ll wear every day and then wear it out as his daddy did with his swim shoes that he would never.take.off. Never. Not even in October or when attending church. Jesus wore sandals, he reminded his daddy, but on to the next photo. A photo of the pre-school bus, a.k.a. momma/Auntie Andrea’s SUV. Colt and Chase are busy talking about their plans for the afternoon in the second row. Those plans include this “magical castle” that was an Easter gift from Gamma for all four.

Addison was celebrating being a big girl because . . . (next photo) she is three and she’s riding a scooter like a rock star. That same day, Addison and Chase enjoyed a tire swing. Chase thought he only needed to hang on with one hand. Dude! Be careful. Finally, Chase modeled his brother’s Glencoe outfit. (Last picture) Dominic wore the same outfit in July 2018 when he visited me at work in Glencoe. It may have been a wee bit looser on him but that doesn’t warrant Chase’s “Fat Baby” nickname, do you think? That’s a rather mean name Gamma. Happy Thursday to all and happy last day of JUNE!

Bring on July!

Seriously what has happened to people? I am sorry that someone would have to lower themselves to name calling if they disagree with you. But hey, some of the leadership examples we have had over the past few years make it seem OK. As usual the littles are adorable. Of course Colt needed a hat that set off those baby blues. Chase is not a fat baby, we call them Chokie. šŸ˜€ He is just a wee bit more robust than his siblings.

That Colt is just a charmer in that hat! LOL. Hope things are going better with everyone’s health.

  3. Roseanne, I missed your Tuesday post, but after reading it tonight, I’m so impressed you could move on and write a positive post for today! Hugs to you and Auntie Sue. Those littles are always something to celebrate – they’re growing so much!

  4. Sally says:

Right now, gratitude is what’s keeping me going. and yay for inner voice. šŸ™‚ Those kids are growing so fast!

  5. Nanette Chopin Cook says:

The babies are going to be graduating from high school before we know it! Hugs

  6. I’m with the ‘other’ Laura: love the gif and I’ve had it with all the ‘me-me-me’ shouting, ‘who cares about anything else?’
You do You, Roseanne…kind soul that you are.
The kids in the van reminded me of our own back in the day – fun!

  7. Sorry about the name calling. It is rather sad but good for you to keep a good attitude.

  8. Love that preschool bus with its precious cargo!
It seems no matter what someone writes or says, someone has to take umbrage with it. And then others just love to chime in. My Facebook groups have had so much problem with that and those are stitching folks talking about stitching!! Kudos to you for figuring out a gif. Yeah, we are all scratching our heads about what’s going on. Making less and less sense all the time.

  9. I am in agreement with Wendy and Brenda; enough drama already! Love the Obama gif! šŸ™‚

  10. Rochelle Summers says:

What a great post. I love that you were able to get a gif into your post. Just the right one, too. Before Covid, there were bike races that comes through Carson City. They were here for 3 or 4 days and it was PARTY TIME!
Great photos of the littles. Addison and Dominic look like they got the sun. Colt’s blue eyes were really shining. And happy birthday to Addison. She sure is growing up. Have a great 4th of July!

  11. Wendy Tuma says:

I’m tired of all the shouting and ranting on social media these days. Always fun to see the littles and what they are up to. Colt has beautiful blue eyes šŸ™‚

  12. They are growing up so quickly! I feel like a part of it watching through the “eyes” of your pictures! Yes, I agree with you. If you don’t care for a person’s opinion, just agree to disagree and move on! I don’t know about you, but I’m over all the drama and chaos we are seeing in our world today.
