I Love Thursday #204 Abounding Blessings

This is the 204th post of things we love for the week. We post each Thursday along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis ā€“ be sure to check them out as you will surely find something to inspire you. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

Blessing in disguise! I love the idea that difficult challenges are actually blessings in disguise. Haven’t you found that coming through the challenges make the other side all the sweeter?

23! I am a bit obsessed with this song and video from Sam Hunt called 23. I wake up in the middle of the night humming it. He has the magic skill of a smooth jazzy sound coupled with words that just speak to me. My 23 doesn’t take me back to New Orleans or the delta nights but this song just resonates with me. “I really hope you’re happy now, I’m really glad I knew you then.” Take a listen . . . I’ll bet you’ll be humming along and thinking back to your own 23 days. I’d love to hear about your 23 memory! {{Hugs}}

Raspberry oranges! Have you ever heard of such a thing??!! I received an email from a local grocery store, encouraging me to purchase many things. One of the featured fruits is a three-pound bag of raspberry oranges. From the outside, they look just like a regular orange. Inside, instead of the bright orange color, I found these dark red wedges. Delicious! Just a tinge less sweet than a regular orange – you can definitely taste a wee bit of raspberry. Amazing!

Love #4

Our littles . . . are constantly busy, busy, busy. Dominic started out the week spending time with Auntie Sue building roads and driving the car through them. Chase is one baby motivated by food. Food of all types but look at that excited face seeing a bowl of puffs! Not long after that delightful moment, he was a baby in chair jail after going after a Cheerio. He got the cereal, by the way, and gave momma the why-are-you-taking-my-picture-when-you-should-get-me-out-of-here look. Addison remains a half-inch behind her brother on the three-year-marker scale. That’s okay, Addi! We love you!

Colt’s been having a-rockin’ 2022. He got to go sledding down the big hill for the first time with daddy. We finally got to give him our Christmas present – he jumped up and down when he opened it. Never expecting that response, I was slow on getting my camera/phone out and missed it. Instead, he jumped right in playing with it. He had both Gamma and Auntie Sue setting up the tracks while investigating the trees and people! Lest I ignore our little princess, Addison was sharing Puffs with Chase in matching jammies. Finally, Addison says have yourself a fabulous Thursday . . . see you next week. {{Hugs}}

    Aw, Colt, a boy through and through! Isn’t it wonderful to see their excitement! And as always, all of the littles are just precious.

  2. Oh Roseanne that song is just so much fun! I listened to it while I was playing on the longarm and I was boogying! The littles always make me smile. I e never heard of raspberry oranges but need to find some now. šŸ˜‰

    I have some of the raspberry oranges. Oh Colt the trains are awesome. The boy’s favorite was the Thomas the Train, we had huge amounts of tracks, and were always making new configurations. What a neat song. I had to listen to it a couple of times. Then actually watch the video which was very cool also. As usual the littles are so cute. Oh I am sure sooner or later Addison is going to catch up with Dominick and pass him for a while. Great likes

  5. No, I’ve not heard of raspberry oranges…sounds delicious. I enjoyed 23 and when I was that age I’d just taken leave from teaching to stay home with my new baby girl, Amelia. Of course, I enjoyed seeing those “babies” this morning.

  6. It’s always such fun to see what the kiddos are up to. Don’t they wear you out, they always seem so busy!

    Loved the songs, but it will be the smiling pictures of the the little ones that will stay with me! 23 was not a good year LOL They are so cute, especially in matching pjs!! Thanks for always sharing the joy that they are!

    Was I 23??? ha ha trying to remember it. I do believe our challenges bring us to places we never expected. Those raspberry oranges look a little like blood oranges. They sound quite good. The littles are adorable, as always.

  9. Sally says:

    Raspberry orange? They look strange. I can’t imagine!

  10. That is a neat song, Roseanne – thanks for sharing it! I haven’t heard of the raspberry oranges either, but sounds like they are worth trying. Love the look on Chase’s face when he was in chair jail! So cute! And looks like Colt is really growing – I though he might be D in the picture with the train set!

  11. Pat says:

    Catchy song! My 23 will never be a song on the radio. I have never seen or heard of raspberry oranges. The Littles are getting so big! I always celebrate my blessings, big and small, everyday. Thanks for sharing Thursday with me … šŸ™‚ Pat

  12. Loved all the blessings today, Roseanne! I totally agree about challenges and being able to push through in faith!! Raspberry oranges do not sound appealing to me! Just give me plain old oranges!! LOL Love seeing the littles in their element!

  13. Gail Sheppard says:

    Love reading about your blessings! Of course, the littles are always so cute! And so fun to see! Thank you for sharing!

  14. Rochelle Summers says:

    Such a wonderful post. I feel the blessings when I conquer something challenging…not so much when I don’t. But having tried is the important part. Hmm, raspberry oranges. Might buy a bag and pass them out to friends. Now that’s a challenging…adjusting the mind to believe they are okay to eat. Gave the grands train sets for years and they ran them all over the house. When a few years had gone by and they hadn’t played with them I gifted them to a friend with you grands. She sends me photos every once in a while of the trains running through the living room, dining room and down the hall. There were many sets!! Addison is growing..like a girl!

  15. Alycia Quilts says:

    Raspberry Oranges…. never heard of them!
    Love your list!!!

  16. Rasberry oranges? Woiw! Never heard of those before! The kids are getting so big! Can’t believe how big Colt is!!! Have a wonderful weekend!

  17. Wendy Tuma says:

    You found some interesting things for your post today – raspberry oranges? Who knew? It’s always fun to try something new. I’m not sure I have a 23! I’ll have to ponder that. Of course, the littles steal the show!
