Tree lights reflection! This picture isn’t mine or even taken near me, but it is striking nevertheless. It is Christmas tree lights reflecting in a pond. A small, young boy is walking by and pointing at the pretty lights. It just touched my heart. I can easily see our Colty, who is now approaching two years old, pointing with wonder at the pretty lights. I’m also certain I would hear, Pretty! and, No, no, no! with a small shake of the head. He’s such a good boy!

Light Show! Speaking of lights, The Glencoe Botanic Garden has its light show again this year. Lightscape had to take a break in 2020, but it is back with a vengeance for 2021. Unfortunately or fortunately, it is sold out for this year and that doesn’t surprise me one bit. Even driving by is a treat because they adorn many of their huge trees with a light wrap. Gorgeous and stunning is what I think each morning as I drive by.

Racine (Wisconsin) Underground Railroad Freedom Heritage Trail. Ten markers have recently been installed in my hometown marking their involvement in the underground railroad. There is also a walking tour which takes you to each of the ten sites and explains the importance of their involvement. That is something I would love to walk this summer or even late-Spring.

Unexpected thanks! I received this wonderful tea assortment from one of the teachers in our district along with a sweet note. I had been helping her with finishing up some required paperwork and we had a few conversations clearly up the confusion. None of it was worthy of such a nice thank you surprise but I welcomed it nevertheless. I’m now sharing the wonderful assortment with everyone in the office. Doesn’t a nice warm cuppa tea sound good right about now?!

To-Do #5
Our littles . . . celebrated a big birthday on Tuesday with Addison’s turning three. She was very excited, especially about the special BROWNIES with BLUE frosting. She had a hand in making the frosting – both her and Chase looked a bit like Smurfs after taste testing. Dominic took her for a chilly joy ride in the morning, followed by some present opening. She was so happy to see the Moana book! Later, it was time to blow out the candles and enjoy those brownies.
We had snow over the weekend, and Dominic was happy to display the slightly-too-large snowsuit he donned to go outside. He and Addison spent some time making Paw Patrol puppy tracks in the fresh snow. Finally, Addison told Chase he couldn’t come in her bedroom. As the second to last shot shows, Chase wasn’t too happy about it while Dominic just kept playing with his truck. I say get used to it boys! Finally, I had to share the cute dinosaur jammies Dominic picked out for himself and his brother. Don’t they look so darn cute in them?! We think so. ~smile~

The light show is incredible! Wish we had something like that here…I would go in a flash to see it!, no pun intended. The little ones are so cute! Happy Birthday, Addison! Feliz cumple! May you live a long, happy, healthy life full of riches of the heart! And that’s a superb jammies choice, Dominic, m’boy! We have been suffering through 35- 40 below Celsius for a couple weeks with wind chill, now warming to minus 15 Celsius, thank you for the warmth of your postings and pictures! We need them!
Those lights are out of this world. I would definitely get a lift seeing them as I drove by even. How sweet to have your help recognized! I bet that walking trail will have some fascinating stories. Love the snowsuit that he will definitely grow into. They are so cute, Roseanne.
Those lights! That first photo looks like an impressionistic painting. And you know I like me some bright colors! Gorgeous is right regarding that light show at the botanical garden. It sure looks like it would be a treat to see in person.
Glad that Addison had a very happy birthday party. Tea is just the ticket this time of year, though coffee works too when you need that pick me up in the afternoon. Happy stitching!
I love lights this time of year. Helps makes things cheery. Interesting about the Heritage Trail markers – neat! What a nice set of tea – a lovely surprise. Yum for brownies! But that blue frosting… oof! lol
I love the pictures of the lights. Beautiful! So nice to get that great tea assortment. Happy Birthday to Addi! Hope you had a great New Year!
Thanks for sharing your blessings!!!
I love them all!!!
BUT, if one day, we can travel and visit you – I do want to walk that Underground Railroad Heritage Trail! I’m sure it will be fascinating!
Brownies with blue icing? Sounds perfect to me!
So many blessings! The littles make the top of the list in my book. That Addison is going to keep those boys on their toes!! The light show and the photo of the lights reflecting off a pond are wonderful. The tea is just a wonderful gift to receive and share. I hope you do get to walk the Underground trail this spring/summer. It will be a wonderful walk to do. Happy 2022. Oh, and Dominic giving Addison a ride….that was such a great photo!!
I love Christmas lights – you found some great photos, Roseanne! Brownies for the birthday girl – yum! The Underground Railroad trail sounds interesting, and like a great learning experience. Love your tea gift – I think your help meant a lot to that teacher. Fun pics of the kids! That’s a great snowsuit – pretty blue!
THe light shows are beautiful. We used to ride around our neighborhood, when I was a kid to see it, but it was nothing like what people do now! There is one at the botanical gardens in Maine that maybe next year we will attend. Love the kiddos – birthdays, smurfs, snow and sibling pjs!
I hope to get to one of those light shows in the future. Our MN Arboretum has them, but they sell out so quickly. Maybe next year! What a nice gift of tea, and how nice that you are sharing it with the office. Thanks to Covid, I’m no longer drinking coffee or tea. My morning brew? Hot water. Oh well. Life goes on, thankfully. The littles are adorable – I love D’s snowsuit – LOL.
Happy New Year my friend! What a nice gift of tea and the Heritage Trail sounds interesting, I wouldn’t mind walking that myself! The kiddos are so cute…OMG snow! Happy Thursday
