I Love Thursday #188 Blessings Benedictions

This is the 188th post of things we love for the week. We post each week along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color and several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out.  You will surely find something to inspire you. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

Love #1

Reading and Goodreads! I just connected with my fellow blogger friend, Colette, on Goodreads. She shares phenomenal books each week that I am 100% certain both Jeanette and Sue will enjoy in the cozy genre. This meme made me think immediately of Colette . . . and how much I’ve always enjoyed reading. In the summers as a child, I spent them at my sister’s house. Being six months older than my niece, Betsy, we got to stay up until 8 pm and then read for half an hour before lights out. We got a lot of reading done in those summers! I still enjoy reading for half an hour before heading back to bed.

Love #2

Baseball size hail!!! Not too long ago, a huge storm system barrelled through Wisconsin. Where the cold air clashed with the very hot air, huge hail formed. BASEBALL size hail fell from the sky. Can you even imagine?!! Since the darn storm formed in Canada or Minnesota or somewhere north of us . . . I guess some of you can imagine. WOWEE is all I can say. Think of the damage that storm left in its path.

FINALLY!!! Daniel Craig’s final appearance as James Bond is coming out on October 8th. Sue and I will be in the audience . . . the first movie we will see in well over two years. Spray Lysol will probably accompany us along with our masks, but we will also enjoy some theatre buttered popcorn and perhaps a White Castle slider. I cannot wait! I’m going to go purchase our online tickets now. We like to sit in row C or D in those really, really, really comfy theatre seats. They’re even heated, in case it should turn cold by then.

Love #4

On Sunday, our only little visitor was Colty. He got to spend time playing on the iPad with Auntie Sue and eating as many puffs as he wanted. He was able to play with EVERY toy and not have it snatched away yet hurt himself two times in the first 30 minutes. We would like to bubble wrap them all. Colt is considering being a fireman as his profession, and still remembers the days when he could fit in the bouncy seat comfortably. Of course, we all know he’s a big boy and takes the washy-washy hand dictum quite seriously.

Chase somehow manages to play with toys in his bedroom. Not without supervision by his Blue’s Clues big brother, and his Frozen sister just shut the door on that cute car. Dominic had to get shots for his fourth birthday but before receiving them sang to himself in the waiting room mirror. That gown’s a little long, buddy! Addison loves to step into Daddy’s slippers and Chaser would like to chew on them, thank you very much. Never fear – the three musketeers have PLENTY of little people for all of them to play with. Dominic and Addison do prefer more adult activities like gluing and placing stickers, especially on papers with their own name. Finally, Addison says CHEESE and happy Thursday.

  1. Our lives are filled with so many blessings Roseanne. That hail is crazy! I love the photos of your littles lives. They are so busy and just the cutest poppets ever! 😉

  2. Chrisknits says:

Aw, I think I am finally caught up in all your fun! Your live is so full of love and family, I can’t imagine how your heart doesn’t explode!!

  3. Colette says:

Oh Colt you little heart breaker. I bet it is weird when you are used to the cousins and you have it all to yourself. Probably a little lost. I was an only child for many years, and once my parents had my sister and brother I was not about the babies or little people. I was known to climb the maple tree in the back yard, climbing way up to sit and read for some peace and quiet. Wow that is huge hail. The littles are always so cute.

  4. Colt is getting so big, and such a cutie, too! I bet Chase will never get tired of being entertained by big brother and sister, either. That is some huge hail! I’ve never seen any that big at our house, and would not like to see the damage it could do either. Have fun at the movies!

  5. Such cuteness! Your posts always bring a smile to my face!

  6. Connie says:

Wow, what a treasure trove of little one pics! I can go into Friday smiling like crazy…Colt’s eyes are amazingly blue aren’t they! And the 3 sibs look so dang cute together! But Dominic singing to himself in the mirror takes the prize…made me laugh…thank you! As for Daniel Craig…sigh, no movie going for me, I’ll have to wait…our province up here just won the Delta variant lottery…highest percentage, no room left in hospitals…never would have imagined these past couple years when I was younger…

  7. Sally says:

That is crazy-big hail. I’ve seen some as big as golf balls, and that did a lot of damage. Can’t even imagine what that would do! Yay for reading – mine has been interrupted lately, but I’m still hoping to hit my 50 book goal for the year.

  8. Rochelle Summers says:

What a wonderful post. I really want to see that James Bond movie, too!!! Daniel is such a hunk. Don’t think I’m ready for the theater yet, though. And reading in the summer or in the winter. Didn’t have a TV until I was in 4th grade so books were and are my first love. But those kids just take the cake this week. Colt had the aunties all to himself this week?!! What fun for him. And those other three. Chase will not be left behind will he? Love Dominic in the doctor’s office. Didn’t know they gave kids gowns. Have a great week.

  9. Kathleen McCormick says:

That hail – OMG! I am so glad we didn’t see it. What is a White Castle slider? a burger? I love Dominic singing to himself in the mirror – totally adorable. I agree bubble wrap would be ideal for toddlers! My mother said “Jesus John” every time he did something. Our son always laughed, but I was convinced she had to stop or else he would think Jesus was his first name.

  10. Dawn says:

Oh my, your littles are getting so big! They are just adorable! It has been a busy beginning of the school year, I haven’t had much time to post or read blogs. Is your district short of subs too?

  11. Vicki in MN says:

OMG, I am assuming the hail didn’t come to your house for a visit though right. I can’t imagine that size and the damage, eeek. You always find the perfect captions to add to the littles story every darn time!!!

  12. Precious pics of the littles!! We haven’t had that size hail in a few years, thankfully. It literally totalled some cars the last time we had it that large.

  13. Wendy Tuma says:

I have experienced that baseball size hail, but not this year thankfully. It was one of the scariest storms I’ve been through. It totaled one of our cars, and we got a new roof. Thankfully, no windows in our house were broken. The littles are so darn cute!
