I Love Thursday #187 Blessings Plenteous
This is the 187th post of things we love for the week. We post each week along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color and several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16
Happy Yoga with Sarah Starr! Namaste. It’s been a long time coming but we have joined yoga nation. Sue, Jeanette (Sue’s Mom), and I have begun our new weekly yoga session. We intend to spend 30-minutes each Saturday morning following a Happy Yoga session led by Sarah Starr. It was the best 30 minutes I’ve spent pre-coffee in ages. My neck tension was diminished, my right arm stopped aching for the day, and we all felt more invigorated. This is one segment of my pre-retirement plan toward a healthier me. By the time I get to actually retire, I should have yoga firmly established as a regular part of my routine along with walking over 10,000 steps per day. Of course, I couldn’t help but think of my friend, Sandra, who regularly shares and inspires daily yoga sessions. We are all excited to start upon this new regiment.
No whimpering! These daily Mindset memes I receive are sometimes so inspiring to me. Taking action and implementing ideas are two fabulous ways to bring about change. I’ve found that when I want to complain about something in my life, I make the charge with a suggestion on how to improve it. Even if the suggestion is ignored, at least some thought has been given other than whimpering and whining. Conquering fear goes hand in hand with making progress!
Lockers! Our first week of school is in the books, and it has been FABULOUS. Students talking and laughing, staff members running in on quick breaks, and an overall air of near-normal. During my morning walkabout in the school hallways, these welcome to a new school year notes made me smile. Most of the teachers assigned a locker to a student with a fun note or name tag!
Forgot breakfast! I’ve never forgotten my breakfast before until last week! A bowl, and a spoon with no oatmeal. What?!! I texted my coworker to see if she had a granola bar she would bring in for me? No, but she had a Pop-tart. Yum, I said. I haven’t had a Pop-tart in at least a decade. It saved the day and it was a fun blast from the past.
Mystical Land! Amazingly enough, I was one of the winners in The Positivity sew-along for Mercyful Quilts charity program. We were more than happy to make two Positivity quilts in two different color pathways. The second quilt was made from a random win during an earlier QAL – what are the odds?? This is a fat quarter 20-piece bundle that may just find itself used in another pay-it-forward quilt or two. There is a QAL that started on Tuesday that I’ve been wanting to join in. This winning announcement seems like we are meant to participate . . . don’t you think?!
Gosh, I can’t forget to share photos of our biggest loves of all – our littles. With a birthday celebration that spanned the whole weekend, there are oodles of pictures to choose from! Up first is a snapshot of the two birthday peeps. Dominic loves his GG! We had several practice birthday cakes. My favorite part of this picture is how Auntie Sue and I are ‘helping’ him blow out the candle. It was an oatmeal cookie that improvised as a cake. Colty was thrilled to eat part of it, while Addison said, “no thank you.”
For the small family gathering, Dominic had a Blaze cake complete with a “4” candle. He had no problem blowing out the candle – thanks to practicing? Who knows! Dominic carefully read each card while his ever-faithful helper Addison waited patiently. Playing with the train set we got him ensued, including Chase who decided to
eat chew on a house. Yeah, he’s teething! While Dominic started pre-school, Addison took Colty for a ride. “Hang on, Colt,” she said. “That darn playhouse is in our way.” Clearly, they are both having fun even with the wind in their hair even if they don’t get to go to preschool, too. Who is that masked blondie blonde?! I’ll let you guess. Happy Thursday!
