I Love Thursday #185 Copious Blessings

This is the 185th post of things we love for the week. We post each week along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color and several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out.  You will surely find something to inspire you.

This post was written to be shared on July 22nd. Obviously, that ship sailed but the information remains as something I’d like to share. Since I missed a few weeks (!!), I’m adding a few additional loves.

Love #1

Dive Team! We have had two recent drownings in Lake Michigan and two more near misses. The Racine County Dive Team volunteered their time to hold an event to discuss the key tips if you get caught in a riptide. The number one tip?? RELAX! Don’t fight the water because you cannot win. The Racine Journal Times shared more of their tips that are very important to those living near to water. Any water, not just a Great Lake! Thank you to the Dive Team for making time to impart their knowledge.

Love #2

UWM Dedication! Who are these mask-wearing musicians?? I don’t know their names, unfortunately. However, they are a part of the University of Wisconsin – Madison marching band. What a display of true dedication, don’t you think? Wearing a mask while marching about with a mask for their instrument, as well. Great job UWM students!

Love #3

Zucchini noodles! Here’s a plate full of fresh zucchini noodles that Sue spiral-cut for me. We made some spaghetti sauce as a topper and boy, was it delicious. Next time, we’re going to try an alfredo sauce – that should be yummy, too.

Love #4

Colty! He gets his own gallery of photos this week because Mr. Big Boy flew to Alaska with his momma and grandma. His first time on a plane and his first visit to an airport. But first, Colt enjoyed some Blue Moon custard. Just like his daddy, that flavor is his go-to flavor and you can easily see he enjoyed the heck out of it! Next, he spent the afternoon on a cart/slide combination that we very, very fun. Good thing Gamma could help him get settled and for a shove when it was time to GO! Next, we got a chance to spend a quiet Sunday morning with Colt that involved some time learning the alphabet. Auntie Sue loves to work with our littles.

By mid-week, it was time to head to the airport! Look at the BIG plane. Are we going on that??!! It wasn’t long thereafter and he was settled in his car seat with noise-canceling headphones on. While he had a hard time getting comfortable on the plane – join the club, buddy – he was a good passenger. Finally, here’s one happy boy in Anchorage, Alaska. We missed their weekly visit!

Love #5

Blogger friends! Do you ever see something just randomly and immediately think of your friends?! I do, all the time. These two images were in recent email messages and I just had to share them! Apparently, gnomes are trending . . . again. Still? This immediately made me think of Wendy. She is a huge fan of gnomes – they are always in season, not just for the holidays.

The second image (on the right) made me think of Sandra and the recently completed Follow Your Own Path quilt-along. Obviously, it was the arrows that jolted the memory since arrows were the main feature and block. Oodles of random stuff make me think of each one of you!

To-Do #6

The “other” littles! I can’t skip over Dominic, Addison, and Chase, can I?! No flippin’ way! First up, baby Chase is almost crawling. In this first photo, he appears to be saying, “Mom, they took away all my toys.” They actually do that. It wasn’t long, though, until big brother Dominic was helping him enjoy his sensory time with water and Elmo friends. THE big event of the weekend was the Paw Patrol movie. It was a complete family event with popcorn from the Popcorn store and everything! Can you see Chase’s hand very near Addison’s popcorn bowl? I am guessing that he thought he should have some of that good stuff, too. With snuggles on her comfy big brother, Addison enjoyed the movie very much.

Then the dynamic duo built a fort and watched TV from inside the confines. Rumor has it that Chase was not allowed inside. “MOM!” Addison did examine the fringe quite closely with Chaser – I suspect that he wanted to pull the blanket/fort down. Next, Dominic has a new, interesting way of climbing back up to go down the slide. It is NOT Auntie Sue approved, I assure you. Addison says, “Oh, Auntie Sue. I can climb anything.” Brothers Chaser and Dominic get a good belly laugh at that! And finally, good night, Addison. I love you, says Dominic! Awwwwwwwww. We adore our littles.

Pure JOY

May you have as wonderful a week as Dominic is enjoying the water and hose!

Those four kids keep sprouting. We saw each as an infant and now look at them!! So happy to see all those photos and to see your post again. It’s a shame that the Dive Team has had to be called out. It is so great that these people are willing to help in these emergencies and to share their life-saving information. I’m so glad that the musicians are able to find a safe way to share the love. Looking forward to next weeks posts.

  10. Kathleen McCormick says:

Your posts are always such fun to read, and of course, I love the photos of the littles! Thanks for thinking of me when you saw the gnomes πŸ™‚ Not surprisingly, I have a little gnome project waiting for me – it’s somewhere in line with all the other projects!

  13. Awww, I’m so happy to see those littles! My how Chase has grown. Dom and Addi are so sweet kissing goodnight! You can tell they all love each other, though I’m sure they have their moments like all kiddos do! Colt is braver than I about the plane ride!! And what a fun trip to Alaska at that!!
