I Love Thursday #181 Abounding Blessings
This is the 181st post of things we love for the week. We post each week along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color and several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Sorry we missed last week! I’ve added some extra (fun) pictures of our littles to make up for it. ~smile~
Family dinner! This is the first time in over 15-months that we’ve been able to gather with my sister and her family. OH! It was so nice. To see each other in person, to laugh and dine and hug once again. It was “the best birthday EVER”, my sister told me the next day. I wish the same wonderful gathering for each of you, sooner than later.
Our server nicely took the group photo of all of us: Sydney, Betsy, Jim, Shane, Amy, Carol, Roseanne, and Sue. We toasted all three June birthdays (Sydney, Carol, and Sue) with a variety of beverages. The final photo is of Mark and Roger who were playing in a golf tournament. Just barely missing a hole-in-one on the fifth hole, it happens to be where my BIL’s bench is located. The two golfers came in fourth place, which is a very good standing considering the field they were playing against. Fun was had by all! The last photo is the lobster bisque several of us tried! Doesn’t it look delicious?? I have to say it was . . . very yummy.
Enjoy the journey! Sometimes in the midst of a long journey, we fail to enjoy the little things along the way. Even those challenges and obstacles we stumble upon are a part of the overall experience. It is easy to get impatient but I try to think that a slowdown is often to spare another hardship from happening. Like that slow driver before me who made me miss the stoplight may have also made me miss the driver who ran the red light, destined for an accident that didn’t happen.
Follow Your Own Path to Happiness at Lambeau Field! My friend, Rose (Something Rose Made) was playing around with a finished photo of our Follow quilt. I thought it was pretty darn brilliant of her to put it on the Packer’s home field. It would be pretty darn cool to actually be able to take a photo there! This quilt is the product of a quilt-along hosted by Sandra at mmm! Quilts, if you’d like more information.
Colt spent a beautiful day at the zoo and saw lions, and tigers, and bears. Oh my! He wasn’t quite sure when Jacob the camel came INTO the car to eat some kibble. I don’t blame him one bit! Dominic spent an afternoon with Auntie Sue, reading the All Better! book. The bandaid goes on the ouchie . . . after you kiss it and make it all better! The red tractor series of photos just cracked Sue and me up so much! First, Dominic climbs into the tractor and takes control of the wheel. Then, little Miss is climbing in and Dominic is thinking about sitting down. Next, little Miss passes him by like a dirty shirt – he’s still not sitting. Finally, she’s driving and he’s wondering what hit him. Get used to it, sweet boy. She’s gonna be rockin’ your world for the rest of your life!
Someone named Dominic John learned all about the window down/up button in the car! It works really well and it’s COOL, too! Addison was patiently waiting for Auntie Sue to take a picture in the MIDDLE of a rousting Oh No! game. She had babies to push in the stroller – come on. On another day, she is happy to pose for a stylin’ photo with her painted nails, stethoscope, and rather large sunglasses on. Momma is one patient gal, even when it’s night-night time and Addison is laughing at the idea! Not to forget about Chase, he has learned to roll over and turn his back on his siblings. Finally, our littles wish you a very Happy Thursday!
