I Love Thursday #179
This is the 179th post of things we love for the week. We post each week along with LeeAnna from Not Afraid of Color and several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Hogs to Heroes! Here’s a feel-good story from our local paper, The Journal Times. Rick Erickson is the 18th veteran to receive a motorcycle from a Wisconsin organization that gifts motorcycles to veterans. Their mission is to help them cope with mental and physical wounds from their time on active duty. Rick lives in the Wisconsin Dells and the ceremony included a full-color guard. That’s just the type of story to share shortly after Memorial Day!
Colorful bike! The colors of this bike and the fence behind it are also appealing to me. It looks like it should be in the Florida Keys, pedaling about near the haunts of Hemingway and the like. Stopping for a Cuban coffee, which I would LOVE to try, and a slice of Key Lime pie to go with it. We are going to emulate this look to a lesser extent for our July 3rd doll buggy parade. We’ll be decorating bikes, wagons, buggies, and whatever else has wheels with red, white, and blue crepe paper. That will culminate in a short parade around our neighborhood, if the weather allows.
Snoopy and Woodstock! This reminds me of my bestie and me, hitting the road for some fun. We have gone on several road trips in our younger days. One Saturday morning, we drove to Pittsburgh for a concert being held that night. I love to drive and enjoy the open road that lies ahead. Skip the road construction and heavy traffic but those are part of the journey as well. All of it makes the experience more memorable and perhaps laughable.
Colt likes reading books, especially with momma. In this case, even the ball pit couldn’t hold his interest over the book, “All Better”. He was all about washing off the ouchie, kissing it, and then making it all better with a bandaid. Shortly thereafter, all three littles found themselves sitting on the island enjoying a chip snack or some puffs.
All is golden when Addison gets to sit in the Elmo chair with Chase. Behind the scenes, she is having a meltdown because she wants to sit in the chair by herself. Notice her brothers aren’t too bothered by her meltdown. This is only #914 and she’s only halfway through the twos. We will all make it, I’m sure! Later, it’s all smiles again as she gets to steer the vehicle while daddy pushes and her brother gets a free ride! Taking the backseat might just fit him well. ~smile~
