I Love Thursday #165 Plentiful Blessings
This is the 165th post of things we love for the week. Have a happy and safe New Year’s Eve! We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.

Uplifting video! Those sweet little faces saying, We Wish You, are just so darn cute! Seventy-eight students and teachers from the school district that Sue works for made an uplifting video for senior citizens in the area. Racine Unified School District staff came up with the concept of sharing some holiday cheer. There’s also a related newspaper article if you are interested in reading it, Hope-Filled Video.

Christmas coffee gift! Our good friends, Carol and Ken, dropped off such a sweet and thoughtful gift last week. It included a plethora of different flavored k-cups like this Salted Caramel Coffee (YUM!), some hot chocolate packs, and some really cute quilting mugs for Sue and I. Sue rarely drinks coffee but who doesn’t enjoy a good cup of hot chocolate, especially when it was only 12 degrees on Christmas Day?!
Love #3

Scrabble collage! The students at my school made this cute Scrabble picture for my boss as a special Christmas gift. The three schools in our district, Central, South, and West, are all represented along with some encouraging words.

Christmas Eve was different for us this year – no big gathering. Instead, we went to visit our nephew and his family during the day to drop off gifts and exchange some merriment. First Sue and I posed (masks down just for the photo op) with the greats, and then with the parents, too, Richard and Elaine. Richard was so disappointed, as were we, that we had to opt-out of our usual submarine sandwiches for dinner. Next year maybe we’ll have Christmas in July! The littles were dressed for Christmas Eve by the tree. Addison gave up on her brother after a few high jinks – go figure – leaving her brother alone.
There was just a wee bit of family togetherness on our Sunday morning coffee date with GG. GG managed to sneak in some Addison time with her babies, while Colt was learning his colors with his cousin and Auntie Sue. GG couldn’t help herself when Colt crawled over for some hugs and kisses – she was happy to oblige. Colt is walking all around his house with a little bit of help from the furniture, while Uncle John assists him with a basketball dunk. Finally, he is more than happy to pose with momma in some cute Christmas jammies and with his entire cute family in front of the tree.

Roseanne – we have all had to adapt our Christmas plans – temporarily. I REALLY like the idea of Christmas in July. Fingers crossed! Lovely family photos …. Happy New Year to you and yours!
I’m so happy to see these photos which showed some family time and togetherness (safely within your family) at the end of a very unusual year. Beautiful. 😉
Even if it wasn’t typical, looks like everyone had fun. We did the mask thing too for Christmas, ate dinner spread across the house with each family group in a different room. Hopefully this year Christmas will be back to normal.
Love all the photos and the video! Now there is some great incentive for the New Year! May all of you stay healthy and happy and full of love this 2021!! That is one beautiful family!
Your Christmas Eve still looked like fun. I wish you and your family a healthy and Happy New Year!

People have gotten really creative with how they thank others and help them feel cared for this year, haven’t they? Glad you got to see some special people on Christmas even if it wasn’t quite the same. That coffee does sound delicious! Cute Christmas pictures of the kiddos, too! Happy New Year, Roseanne and Sue!
