I Love Thursday #142 – Copious Blessings

This is the 142nd post of things we love for the week.  We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color.  Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out.  You will surely find something to inspire you.

Thursday

Love #1

Central A/C!!!  It was just slightly under a year ago that we were without air conditioning.  While it was during a hot and humid stretch of weather, we were given a temporary “portable” a/c unit.  I am so, so, so, so, so, SO thankful that our central air conditioning unit is working.

Love #2

Fourth of July fun!  Colt enjoyed his first 4th of July so much.  He got to see a short parade as well as some swim time with his cousins.

Dominic and Addison also enjoyed the 4th and flags at Gamma’s house.

Love #3

That was the holiday pictures of baby Colt, but it’s back to our regularly scheduled photos for the week!  First up is some tummy time on the tag quilt we made for Addison.  She had to hurry to sit on it as soon as it hit the floor but she quickly made room for her cousin, Colt.  Playing with a ball as a new-to-him toy, it makes sitting up all the better.

Love #4

Everyone is hardpressed to keep Dominic out of the water, even when he’s just supposed to be walking to the house from the garage.  Mom and Dad have learned to just keep water socks in the car . . .  Addison got her hands on the hose . . . and the natural consequence was that her brother had a face full of water when he tried to take it away from her.  Did you notice the universal pose Dominic showed with both hands up?  Keep that water away from me – or else he was saying lay it on me!  Addison chills out playing drop the ball in the water table.  She’s a water baby, too.

Aww, the playhouse photo – did you notice a short little person wearing a Cubs hat?  That’s actually Dominic, hiding so that he doesn’t have to go in for a nap.  We’ll have to show him the finer details of hiding.  You can’t have your head sticking out/up if you’re in hiding.  HAHA!  Needless to say, momma knew right where he was.  Imagine that.  It’s always time for some quiet reading time.  Dominic, the big boy, helped momma make some “buice” (a.k.a. juice) early one morning before his sister was up to be annoyed about not helping.  Finally, Auntie Rose snuck in a kiss before rocking young Colty for a quickie nap.  They’re that little for such a short time. ~smile~  Sweet Addison says Happy Thursday and don’t forget to stop by next week at 7425 Home Sewn By Us Place.

It is definitely pool and playing in the water weather. I agree, thank goodness for A.C. How anyone lived in the south without it is beyond me.

  2. There is no substitute for central air conditioning when it’s hot and humid. So glad you’ve got it! Those cute little kids are growing so fast! It looks like everyone had a fun 4th of July!

  3. Mary says:

I would be joining those cuties in the pool! Yay for central AC! Colt is growing fast, but adorable.

so fun to see the kids on fourth of july!! And I sympathize on the AC. It’s hot and muggy here and I’d be lost without mine!

I am glad you have AC this summer to! Have you tried a little fan in your sewing room and point it up at the ceiling or at least away from your sewing pieces;) just to move the air around. I find that helps somewhat.

  10. Sally says:

We haven’t needed to lug up our AC yet… but soon. I don’t think we’ll make it the week. What great 4th of July pics, and that water looks so inviting!

  11. Rochelle Summers says:

Such wonderful photos of the littles. That Colt is growing so much. And Addison and Dominic look like they are going to have a wonderful summer with water and whatever else they can find. I’m forever grateful for my swamp cooler…the humidity was only at 7% yesterday that’s why we can use a swamp cooler…with the temperatures climbing into the mid-90s. Have a wonderful week.

  12. Glad your A/C is fixed, Roseanne! Cute holiday photos of the kids, too! 4th of July is the most fun when kids are around. That pool looks pretty inviting – don’t you want to join them?!

  13. chrisknits says:
