I Love Thursday #133 – So Many Blessings

This is the 133rd post of things we love for the week.  We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color.  Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out.  You will surely find something to inspire you.

Thursday

Love #1

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  We happened to go grocery shopping on Monday and unwittingly picked up all the makings for guacamole.  It took us about half an hour to chop everything and before you know it, yummy.  We haven’t made guac much lately and I always wonder why we don’t make it more often.  It is, after all, made from fresh delicious ingredients.  Maybe the Tostitos cancel out all the guac good-for-you goodness?  I chose to believe that it is quite healthy. ~smile~

Love #2

Real-life Super Heros!  I just LOVE seeing the Justice League members and other imagined superheroes bowing for some of our real-life heroes.  Some may take umbrage with Batman and Robin being included and front and center at that.  Since Dr. Auntie Sue is a huge Batman fan, we felt it was quite fitting and perfect.  Thank you to all of our real-life heroes doing their job every day so that we all may stay healthy and safe.

Love #3

The difference one letter placement makes!  A little girl wanted to write a message for her mom to see when she got home from work.  She carefully chose her sidewalk chalk and used her best printing.  Even the mailman enjoyed her handiwork and smiled at her while staying a safe distance away.  Yes, I suspect a wonderful hero does live there! ~smile~

Letter misspell

Love #4

Sweet pea Colt is growing like a weed in spite of us missing most of it.  Thankfully, his parents keep us in photos to enjoy as he is now in 3-6 months size clothes.  That’s what happens when you have LONG legs.  His cousins can definitely relate!

Colt is oh so ready for baseball season!  He looks SO much like his daddy it’s unbelievable.  While he doesn’t mind posing with his cousin Dominic at all, both he and Addison wonder what the heck they are supposed to do?! ♥ ♥

Love #5

Dominic enjoys some activities by himself whenever he can.  Reading a color book with Auntie Sue is fun – what is the difference between black and brown?  Thanks to Gamma, he loves to sweep and then fill his paintbrush with a special color.  All alone time must come to an end when trying to color.  Watch out Dominic, Addison’s on her way over to eat some crayons.  He can’t even enjoy a lawn chair by himself.

It is a rare occasion when Addison was up and dressed before Dominic, as our Princess prefers to sleep in.  They both have big smiles for Gamma.  We feel Andrea’s pain when trying to get a good picture of all three littles for Mother’s Day.  Now all three babies – look over here.  Over here!  How do you get them all to look at the same time? Finally, Nurse Addison has her stethoscope and is ready to check your pulse and listen to your heart.  Complete with a ruffly butt. ~smile~

and anyone facing down death to help another person is the biggest hero.
Americans could help them by trying to keep infection down, right? instead of demanding to be let into stores maskless? IMHO
Our princess prefers to sleep in… as all good princesses should! Beauty sleep is real

Fun pictures of the kiddos. Love the chalk message. Have a great weekend.

I’m eating avocados too on my toast for a lunch. I think their goodness overrides whatever you serve with them. Pretty sure that’s true. 🙂
Gorgeous photos of the kids…thanks for the smiles and chuckles in this post.

  4. You definitely have some cute little blessings there! And we love Guacamole and made some this week too. I like to make nachos….put cheese on my chips and melt it in the toaster oven….and eat that with the Guac and a salad! It’s SO healthy! Hugs!

  5. Sally says:

We bought avocados, too, in hopes of making guac this week. 🙂 LOL LOL. Oh, goodness, spelling counts! So close and yet so far. I needed that laugh. 🙂

  6. Colette says:

Yum your guacamole looks awesome. ROFL the sidewalk chalk. Great to see the littles. Oh my gosh Colt is growing like a bad weed. Dominick and Addison are going to have the sibling rivalry of the ages, there are a couple of looks there.

  7. I feel we missed Cinco de Mayo too thanks to Covid! Your guacamole looks delicious! I’m so glad that “hero” was the word that was misspelled. I was a bit confused! Hahaha! Such cute kids!

  8. That guacamole looks SO good! And that sidewalk chalk message is the funniest!

  9. Ah….spelling is not everyone’s forte is it? That guac looks pretty darn healthy, but the chips are always a problem. The kids are adorable as always!

Your LOVEs always bring a smile to my face “HORE” brought out loud giggles! 🙂

  11. Rochelle Summers says:

Such great photos of all the littles. Colt is really growing fast. That broom Dominic is holding onto makes him look so small. I can see the mischief in the eyes or the two older littles. Thank you for sharing the photo of our heros. They deserve every kudo there is for the risks they are taking to help us all. And we shouldn’t forget the custodial, house keeping, cooking and other support staff, too. Oh yeah….the guac looks so yummy!

Hello Roseanne, I had the best laugh while reading the sidewalk chalk love message! A message a Special Mom will never forget!! All of the Super Hero’s paying Honor to the REAL SUPER HEROS is magnificent. I am so glad that you shared this! The guacamole looks delicious, especially since I have not made any in oh so long. I must remedy that as soon as possible and who cares if the Tostitos are not as healthy, we must splurge and enjoy occasionally!! I have gained far to much weight this past winter and must start working on losing it…but after the Guacamole/Tostitos!!!! Made you laugh, didn’t I? I have been, actually still am suffering from a sinus cold. Yuck…it just will not go away. Oh well. As always, I enjoy every picture you share of the kiddo’s and any other picture you decide to share also. So keep your wonderful posts coming! Have a marvelous day!!

  13. Connie says:

Love the pics as always! Thank you for sharing! The littles are like a weekly serial for me, addicted to the show, have to see the latest installment LOL Left me with a huge smile, despite the situation we’re all in…sigh…

  14. Mary says:

What a surprise on the chalk drawing. But, she’s so sweet to her mom. Cole looks like he’ll be pretty tall. Those kids are too cute. Yes for guacamole!

  15. Oh, guacamole and chips – yum! We’ve seen lots of fun sidewalk chalk drawings on our daily neighborhood walks. The one you’re sharing would definitely get some laughs! That Colt looks like he’s going to be long and tall. Love the picture of your three littles together!

  16. chrisknits says:

It isn’t any easier with 3 dogs, trying to keep them all still and looking the same way! LOL

  17. Carol S. says:

Oh my gosh, one letter off definitely makes a difference. LOL Sweet pics from a distance and yummy guacamole…love your Thursday “loves”!

  18. You certainly have many blessings in your life! Thanks for sharing 🙂 xx

  19. 1st- Ah, come on! Tostitos are made from whole grain corn so they’re still semi-nutritious.
2nd- I love chalk drawings, especially when done with love.
3rd- Colt sure is a lanky lad- gonna need long inseams on his jeans in future!
4th- Hang in there, Roseanne (and Sue)
    🙂

  20. karenfae says:

I think it is the chips! they make all the difference because of course you can’t stop at 5 or even 10 🙂 Love those kids they are so cute and I know you are just waiting for the chance to be around them all again

  21. What a fun post, Roseanne. Those kiddos never fail to make me smile. I love guac; we had it for lunch yesterday. Yes, it is a healthy food; the chips, maybe not so much, but we’re not talking about that. 🙂

  22. Those kids are just too cute! I have two new grand nieces: one yesterday and one in April. So much joy in the arrival!

  23. Mickie says:

ROFL! Okay that chalk sign had me a bit perplexed until you mentioned “hero”. I was very confused! So good to see the kiddos! I love the photo with all three of them together! You are right, our essential workers and medical frontliners are true heroes! Have a great week!
