I Love Thursday #121 Abounding Blessings
This is the 121st post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find something to inspire you.
Love #1
Furry stuffed love! I found these cute little guys for Dominic and Addison.
One is a black lab modeled after Zeus, and the other is a patchwork friendly-looking bear. Both offer the capability to record a 20-second message. I thought that would be perfect for a few “I Love You” messages from GG, Grandma, an aunt or two.
Here’s a couple of pictures on why Dominic should have a stuffed Zeus since they seem to adore each other. ~smile~ Puppies like to lick babies ears, it seems, and babies giggle and giggle when that happens.
Love #2
Blue sink – not! Alycia from Alycia Quilts asked for a picture of my sister’s blue sink. Happy to deliver on special requests such as this, here is my sister’s blue countertop in her kitchen. It turns out she HAD a blue sink that was too purple, and she replaced it with this nifty white one. Instead, I took a photo of the blue countertops that she has in her kitchen and bathroom.
Also, here’s a spiffy photo of my sister with her Something Blue table runner, and it on her coffee table. We spent a wonderful Saturday together and she loved the colors in her runner.
Love #3
Each experience shapes you. It is sometimes is difficult to recall, but each and every experience shapes you and brings you to the point you are right now. High and lows, hardships and successes alike all give you depth. Embrace the you that you are!
Love #4
Groundhog Day! Two-feet of snow was our Groundhog Day back in 2011. With the lot empty next to our home there was nothing to stop the blowing snow. We had a drifted wall of snow as tall as the roof of our house. It look a front-end loader a few days to move all of that snow so we had no mail plus we couldn’t get out at all. Also, that was the storm that our furnace turned itself off, thankfully. I had to unbury the air-intake pipe which I had no idea where it was located. I kind of like a big storm, though – it’s the possibility of a “snow day” that still gets me excited.
Love #5
Addison and Dominic started out the week making a Birthday card for Gamma. How sweet is that? You will easily see that the paint had to be taste-tested before it was deemed suitable for the paper. That is a very important feature for Gamma’s birthday card evidently. Next, Addison discovered the baby-Dominic picture on the refrigerator. She felt compelled to give him a sweet kiss and hug, and then smile at momma because she’s being so nice to the baby. Yes, that’s baby-Dominic you’re giving a hug and kiss.
Dominic was a party boy, attending the birthday party of a sweet friend. He gave bowling a try, and there were a few tense moments with everyone wondering if he gave the ball enough of a shove. Soon, everyone was clapping and excitement was abundant. Did he get a strike, we can’t help but wonder?!! All that bowling warranted a good {{hug}} from his preschool-buddy-to-be, A.J. Finally, a certain tired boy gave in on the ride home. His eyes were just too heavy to stay awake. A blast was had by all!
Join us each week for our linky party called To-Do Tuesday! Wow, t-ball bowling! I never knew. =) What wonderful pictures, smiles and taste tests. =)
ack… snow snow and more snow last night. It’s now streetglaciers. Your number 3 resonates with me and I like that graphic. Blue countertops are a statement!!! Those widdle babies and pups are heart warming
Love the stuffies! So neat that you can record messages. Love your blue table runner. It’s so true about experiences, good and bad, shaping us. Enjoy your week!
Whoa, the snow picture is just a little too close to home for us here! Thanks for taking away the pain with the tons of sugar…love the hugs and kisses pics! Now that’s the way to walk into a cold weekend up north…thank you!
Your post has put a big old smile on my heart. Thank you! 🙂
Another smiles-abundant post Roseanne! I just love, but you know I do, the Dominic and his canine friend pics! Those blue countertops, wow. Takes me back to the late 80s when a very good friend of mine had those exact kind in her kitchen of her 1920s home. Oh, the snow! Well, we got two storms so now it looks like February here and not March! Happy weekend and hope you do get a snow day or two in yet this winter!
Cute stuffed animals. That is a startling blue counter top. Pretty table runner. I recently was asked what in my past I’d like to change. There’s been some pretty awful times I’ve gone through, but I’d be hard pressed to get rid of any of them, because I like who I am now, and that’s how I got here!
Well, after this week, I clearly have a new shape, so I’m working on embracing it; there have been plenty of not-fun experiences. But things are better now. I got to see cute pictures of your littles, which always brings a smile to my face! Oy – all that snow! Did you see the Groundhog Day ad during the SB? That made me smile, and it was the only ad I watched — I don’t do football. 😉
The stuffed lab and bear are very cute. I love when children have so much fun on an outing, they drop asleep in the car. At home, we love a good snow storm-everything shuts down and people stay safely at home having stocked up on storm chips and snow snacks…yes bakeries do that when a storm is coming. But here in Ottawa, nothing closes except school buses taken off the roads but teachers have to get in and everyone has to get around as best they can. I think it’s dangerous sometimes but that’s old me. Anyway, love this post, as always.
Cute cuddle buddies and how awesome they can record something. I have a blue sink. Not in love with it. Love the message about experience shaping us. As usual the kiddos are adorable, how fun to bowl.
I can let you borrow two dogs that love to give babies kisses!! Or lick fingers, toes and noses!! Cute kids, as always.
Hello Roseanne, You have made my day brighter with each of the topics you included today! Thank you so much for sharing and have a marvelous day!
LOL at paint tasting! Oh those kids make my day! Love the stuffed animals you got for them, they are fantastic that they can record messages! Have a wonderful week!
Oh, there’s nothing like a snow day! Just ask a teacher, even a retired one! Was there a Groundhog Day repeat this year? 🙂 I like your quote about how our experiences shape us, both the good and the not so good. And that thingamajig to roll the bowling ball down looks like a great invention!
Roseanne I enjoyed reading about your favorites. Your recount of the 2011 storm gave me the shivers.
what a cute little child!! and that snow from 2011 wow! I think that must be the year my daughter in Madison shared photos and the snow was halfway up the french doors in the dinning room – it took days for shoveling before they got the area to the doors cleared – you go up about 4 steps to get to those doors
Love the stuffed lab and patchwork bear. How cool that you can record messages that the kiddos can hear when they play with them. Speaking of messages, what a great message you shared about how our experiences shape us. Thanks again for all the positive vibes (and pics!). Have a great day, Mary.
