I Love Thursday #114 Abundant Blessings

This is the 114th post of things we love for the week.  We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color.  Several additional friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out.  You will surely find something to inspire you.

Love #1

Winter Solstice!  On Saturday, the first day of winter is here with the Winter Solstice.  The Village where I work celebrates the shortest day of the year with a Parade of Lights on a trail in town.  It is a short walk that culminates with a bonfire and treats for all including pets.  It’s a fun way to celebrate the days beginning to lengthen although it is technically celebrated one day early on the 20th instead of the 21st.

Happy Ribbons!  This little picture was in an email I recently received, and it just made me smile.  If you look closely you will notice that some of the ornaments are just floating in thin air with no connection to the ribbon they appear to be hanging from.  This reminds me of wrapping packages which I greatly enjoy.  I guess I enjoy the fussy cutting and primping the bows and ribbons just so.

Fabrics, of course.  We’re going to be playing along with Jen and her monthly color block challenge next year.  Of course, that project requires some special quilt-worthy fabrics don’t you think?!  It’s hard to tell but they are all resting on top of a nice solid Kona black fabric.  It makes for a nice backdrop for all, even the brown . . . These are the Crayola Kaleidoscope collection by Riley Blake.  I just adore most of her fabric lines.

Top-rated Quilting Blogs for 2019.  Have you heard of this website?  I recently saw two blogger friends mention it, and thought I’d check it out.  You can color me totally surprised to see that our blog is listed at all.  I see many friends’ quilt blog websites listed there but also some new-to-me blogs to check out.  Maybe you’d like to take a peek yourself?  Of course, I wouldn’t be sad if you gave us a ‘like’ as well.  ~smile~

Love #5

I thought you’d enjoy seeing both Dominic and Addison at 11 months.  Boy, this year has flown by quickly.  Dominic loves to tickle his sister and by the look on her face, Addison enjoys it very much as well.  Tickle, tickle, tickle.  Can you just hear the giggles?!  Dominic has to check out the lights.  His sister is just amazed by them – are they edible?  Addison, sit and smile by the tree.  Okay, momma.  How about another shot of me clapping in my sweet puppy jammies?!  Oooh, we want to scoop these two up and cover them in kisses.  Oh wait, we did that on Sunday morning!  Auntie Sue spent a minute rocking both of them in the chair.  And finally, and lest you think Addison is just an angel . . . when she gets her hand on the blinds she shakes the heck out of them.  Even while being told NO.

We are Blessed with a capital B.

You are so BLESSED! They are both adorable, but there is enough difference to know which was which. I love that they appear to be so close as siblings – emotionally close. Thanks for sharing that red ribbon, as that’s also smile-worthy. I snitched it. =)

  2. They are all great favorites! I like the fabrics you chose for the 2020 project. If I do not settle down and get going I will be on this computer all day! LOL Hugs

Hi Roseanne, lovely likes and funny how we all love to look at other people’s fabrics. I smile the whole while I’m looking at the little ones. Thanks for that. Meanwhile, congrats on being on that list…I’d never heard of it and still not sure of what those things mean…but all sounds good. I will have to get back to it when I have a chance.

  5. Dominic and Addison are so adorable! Congrats on the blog rating! Winter Solstice means the days are going to start to get longer! Can’t wait!

  6. Those fabrics are so great…but kids and Christmas makes my heart swoon. I just love seeing them amidst the lights and the wonder it brings. Great to see you on that blog list!

  7. That Crayola Kaleidoscope fabric is so fun! It will be perfect for those monthly color blocks, Roseanne! Love the picture of Addison under the tree, too. And, boy, can you ever tell that those two are related with their 11 month pictures! So cute!

Ooh – I saw that collection of fabrics earlier this year – I wanted to take them all home with me (I settled at the time for two). Yay for the solstice – just the promise of longer days is good.

Oooo a prettily wrapped gift is a gift in itself! Love your village tradition of light, the fabric is really pretty. Who is jen and what’s the new color challenge?

I went and checked out the top quilt blog list. It was so nice to see so many I knew on the list. Not sure I wanted to see so many I don’t follow on the list, I needed to add many of them to my follow list. That list keeps growing!! So many pretty things to look at!!

Oh so many great things. The ornament picture made me smile. Love the picture of Dominick with the lights it is so sweet, and his face is so full of that wonder of childhood. Great fabrics, and the solstice celebration. What Addison is not an angel? Did her halo slip just a bit? Blinds, kids, dogs, cats, and old folks. Grrrr.
