I Love Thursday #10 – It’s December
The first week of December is almost over. The next couple of holidays are quickly approaching. It is easier and easier to come up with things that I love for the week. LeeAnna blogs at Not Afraid of Color and shares her ‘likes’ every Thursday. Several of our friends also share on a weekly basis, and it is rather addictive looking for all the positives once you get started. You are welcome to join us anytime! Love #1
I love spending time with my older sister and her family. My sister, Carol and brother-in-law, Tom only live about an hour away from me but it isn’t a trip I make that often. Definitely not often enough! We were able to spend some time this past weekend together, having lunch at the ‘Club’ which was all decorated for Christmas. I didn’t spend too much time enjoying the decorations or even the golfers out on a 50+ degree day. I spent my time laughing and chatting with family. It is wonderful.
Love #2
I love this new rocking chair that I just purchased on sale on Black Friday. It is called a Sante Fe Rocker, and it is deceivingly comfortable. Hmm, it doesn’t rock all that well on carpeting but I may solve that with one of those small office chair mats. I have always loved to rock, and I know Dominic loves to rock as well. We’re a match made in heaven. ~smile~
Love #3
Christmas decorations, whether my own or others – I love them! This year we skipped putting two single village houses up as that allowed us to condense them into two areas. We have a whole town in front of the fireplace with a train circling all the store fronts and then a skating rink in the outskirts. The second area is a really small village behind the couch. I also love driving around and seeing all the outside decorations. Just a beautiful, happy time of year for me.
Love #4
Friday because that usually means Dominic is coming over for a visit. Last Friday was no exception. Here he is in his new ‘grandpa’ hat, being a trouper and staying awake just for us. He’s now 12 weeks old.
Love #5
This was the 19th year that the Canadian Pacific Christmas Holiday Train rolled through our village this past weekend, and it is really cool! A box car containing carolers, Santa and a food collection for local food banks are highlights of the train’s visit. We are fortunate to be able to see the train pass by from our backyard and patio.
That’s it for this week! I hope your week is filled with many blessings.

Such a pretty Christmas display! 🙂
Thanks! It makes me happy to just sit there in the dark and rock. ~smile~ Roseanne
I agree! 🙂
All great things to love! That train is amazing. I would love that, too. Twelve weeks, already? He is adorable in that hat. I just bought a similar one for my son, who is a lot older, but not a grampa!
Hi again,
I’ll bet your son looks nice in it and not at all like a grampa! The train is just so wonderful and we are so lucky to be on its path! ~smile~ Roseanne
Love Dom’s hat. He is becoming a fashion statement.
HAHA – he is! A little peewee trend setter. ~smile~ Roseanne
Love that cute baby! The train is awesome, wish we had that here! I love rocking chairs too! You have great likes this week!
Good Morning,
Aww, aren’t you sweet?! That train IS SO COOL! The lights blink on/off and change colors and each car has its own theme. Plus it plays music as it goes, and then the singers come out at each stop. It is really fun. And that baby – well he has stollen my heart, that’s for sure. ~smile~ Roseanne
12 weeks! No wonder he looks like a young man! Your decorations are terrific. When I lived alone, I kept the spare room as the christmas room, just moving the displays in there instead of packing up. Grand!
Hi LeeAnna,
Oh to have a whole room for Christmas stuff! That would be grand. He is starting to look like a young man, isn’t he?!! I just adore him. ~smile~ Roseanne
Love the little village. I have numerous snowmen with blue hats or scarves doing all sorts of things. But they haven’t been out the last few years for one reason or another.
Sandy in the UK
Hi Sandy,
I am sorry you aren’t enjoying your snowmen! If they make you happy I want you to pull just a few out and make a space for them. They can be part of your ‘like’ next week. {{hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Your decorations are wonderful! I love those little villages, but have never had a spot with room enough to display something like that, but sure enjoy seeing other people’s! It is also wonderful when you get to see family that you don’t get enough of – glad you had that chance. Enjoy rocking your little guy in the new rocker!
Hi Diann,
Great-grandpa Tom made the board so that the train could circle around the village. We decided that Dominic would enjoy the heck out of that – I love to put up the village and enjoy the lights every night. ~smile~ Roseanne
Your decorations are so pretty. It’s so nice when you like your family members and get to spend time with them. 🙂 And cool rocking chair.
Hi Sally,
It is cool that we get along. Everyone has family . . . and sometimes there are disagreements. I’ve finally gotten to the age and point where I realize I can only control me. I love the rocking chair – it rocks!! ~smile~ Roseanne
How lucky to see the train from the patio! Daughter takes grandson to the nearest little town to see it and isn’t it a great thing.
Love your new rocker and of course, that handsome little face. I would love to be able to hold him., Sigh.
Hi Jocelyn,
If you come for a visit you could hold D – he would love it, and tell you stories. He is getting to be quite the chatterbox. I would love to know what he’s saying. ~smile~ Roseanne
Your decorations are great. The rocker looks awesome. What a sweet little man. Love the hat! I am jealous, the train came nearby, but I couldn’t make it out to see it. One day definitely on my bucket list.
Hi Colette,
This year it was actually fairly warm for the train’s visit. You never know about the beginning of December! ~smile~ Roseanne
I love that train coming so close to your home. Great idea! Your Christmas decos are sweet but Dominic is adorable! mary in Az
Hi Mary,
It is so festive to hear and see the train, and the food collection is a worthy cause. ~smile~ Roseanne
