Holy Cow Winning Hands2Help
This was our first year to participate in the Hands2Help campaign held by Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict. We are so honored to have joined 200 other quilters who made 876 quilts. How cow, imagine that, can you?? That’s an average of more than four quilts per person. It makes me so proud to be a small part of such a generous community that is quilters. I cannot say I am surprised one bit though as it matches all of the friends I have found here online.
Holy Cow #2
Those numbers above deserve a Holy Cow reminiscent of Harry Caray of the Chicago Cubs. If you were a part of those 200 quilters, Sue and I extend a sincere thank you to you. It seems that there are a plethora of suppliers who offered prizes of many sorts to the participants. From the long list of both the vendors as well as the recipients, it appears that most everyone received a gift. A big huge heartfelt thank goes out to each and every supplier/vendor for their donations.
From Sarah in Saturday’s mail came this beautiful fat quarter bundle of Northcott fabrics. All of them are from the Artisan Spirit Euphoria line which came out in 2016. Oooh, the pattern on the solid fabrics is just so fine, and the butterflies have that same background pattern with more detail. Gorgeous! I cannot wait to find a fun use for these pretties.
Holy Cow #3
Sarah also sent along a separate prize for “my quilting buddy”. From Pineapple Fabrics, it includes a sample color chart and a generous one-yard cut of Sangria. Oddly enough, before opening the package we had just been talking about Sangria. The Blake Sheldon song and the disappointing glass of wine we enjoyed, not the fabric because we weren’t aware of its existence.
We are DEFINITELY going to be using this color chart and Pineapple Fabrics in the future. Perhaps you’ve heard of them before and ordered from them? Oh, this fabric feels SO fine. I would like to thank them personally and will do so in the best way possible by throwing my business their way. Oooh, what should be purchased first?!
Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on. We would love to see them!
Every year, Sarah winds up with enough for everyone to have something. It surprised me the first year, too. I look forward to seeing what your fabrics become!
I’m a fan of Pineapple Fabrics! Great prizes for a great cause!
Yay for fun prizes!!! I got a gift card to C&T publishing which has already purchased e-books!
Congratulations on your win! How nice that your kindness benefitted you al little, as well as the lucky people who got the quilts! there’s a lot to be said for sangria- fabric and wine. My daughter, the sommelier, has made some wonderful white wine sangria that is almost God like in its ability to turn some pretty questionable cheap wine into a delicious beverage.
Moooo! Holy Cow indeed! Thank you for spreading so much awesomeness. Why don’t people spend more time talking about these kinds of happy things? And those fabrics are just gorgeous! I know you and Sue will make something wonderful with them, contributing to all the good in the world! Thank you for boosting my happiness quota today!
Wonderful!! Congratulations on getting all those wonderful fabrics. So glad to hear you shared the love and they shared it right back. I’ve never heard of Pineapple Fabrics. I’ll have to check them out.
I am not familiar with Pineapple Fabrics, but isn’t Sarah the sweetest to have every one of us quilters get a prize? And even Sue, just so above and beyond is she. 🙂 Sangria woes… I’ll stick with my Merlot and Cab Sauvignon, etc…
Wow! You got some lovely things. Pineapple is fun and they have some great fabrics. They also have their own “precut system” where you buy coordinated precuts and get a free pattern. I have a little drawstring bag to make which will take no time. I don’t know if they change their fabrics lines, but they have some consistent solids and blenders, like grunge and bedrock, oh and 3 yard wide backs! They are next to Keepsake in Centre Harbor NH – a good time. I should be an affiliate….ha ha.
Congrats on your win! I received a book by Jan at The Colorfulfabricholic blog.
It is amazing how many quilts were made wasn’t it!!
You will like Pineapple Fabrics. Take some time to check out their website and sign up for their newsletter. They have some great deals (fabric at $4/yd anyone??). That piece of sangria is lovely!
