Holy Cow! A Cubs Quilt

In case you aren’t aware, the Chicago Cubs won the World Series in 2016.  ~yawn~  That’s old news – so last year.  We have a LOT of Cubs fans in our life, and one of them has requested a Cubs quilt.  Not just any Cubs quilt either . . . not a fly the W.  Nope.  Not just a C logo.  Nope.  It has to be the C with the bear.  Another appliqué quilt. ~sigh~  Or is it?

So the colors are very easy to determine – red, white and blue.  Boom.  Of course, I haven’t tried to find the exact colors yet in fabric.  It may be easier to type than to find.  I hope not.  The bigger question is what pattern should we chose to highlight this?  I am 100% sure they already make fabric with this design on it.  Should we take the easy way out and buy that?

Or Just Fabric?

Would it be so terrible if we purchased fabric similar to the above, and fussy cut it into whatever size blocks we decide.  I think that would be soooooooooooo much easier.  It would save my hair from growing any grayer.  Stress levels would remain low.  A good thing all around, don’t you think?  Now what pattern should we chose for this queen-size project?  The easiest way out and go for 5″ squares.  LOL  What would you do and recommend?  Want to see what we decided?  Here’s the link to Cubs Clark Quilt Finished.
