Hands2Help (H2H) Comfort Quilt Challenge 2020 Update

It’s June already so that means it’s time to wrap up the 2020 Hands2Help (H2H) Challenge.  Sarah from Confessions of a Fabric Addict shared information for the 2020 challenge back in March.  Many quilters have been working for months sharing the quilty goodness with the selected charities – it’s just amazing that 200 quilters made 876 quilts last year!  When Sarah shares an update it’ll be fun to see this year’s numbers of participants and quilts donated.

H2H 2020

Local H2H Donations

Sue and I went through our quilt stash and selected several quilts that will hopefully bring some cheer and comfort to a local donation site.  The call was for any adult, child, and baby-sized quilts.  Polka dot fabrics were definitely our jam this year as the four donation quilts all reflect dots.

ColorBlock - Finished

The first donation quilt is a lap quilt we finished earlier in February using last year’s monthly color blocks.  The white background as well as the sashing strips are both polka dot fabrics by Riley Blake.

H2H Baby Quilts

Next, we knew that we had to share several baby quilts.  We decided a gender-neutral one along with two others would be perfect.

All use the Irish Chain pattern and have some fun backings like the first one that has turtles with musical notes.  The light blue version has some cute monkeys frolicking in different poses.

Our last donation quilt was made with a pink and white, and a white and pink polka dot fabric.  Sue hand quilted hearts in each of the white and pink squares, and the backing is are some cute owls.

Hello Roseanne, These quilts are marvelous donations!! The Irish Chain pattern is such a great one to use for any occasion due to the usual ease of its construction and the way in which any fabric combinations work with it. I am thrilled that you shared these and helped to remind me that I have a few quilts that I can donate also. I also want to let you know that I have been having trouble with my computer and then on top of that we were informed that we have new internet providers and then bam were without internet for over 2 days. Great new service! LOL. Well here’s to hoping all problems on back on track. Have a great day!
