  1. Yay for the both of you for working on your FMQ skills! My problem is that I’ll do some FMQ and then won’t do it again for months. Your approach of adding a bit to each project is a smart way to keep working on that muscle memory.

  2. Hi Roseanne,
I agree, I like to watch the experts and then just do!
I really enjoy practicing FMQ once I stopped worrying about how it looks.
    Keep on going! 🙂

  3. I have her book! I’ll be checking in on these vids – thanks for the info, Roseanne.

Learning to quilt is one of the things on my when I retire to do list. Enjoy the challenge!

  5. Yep. I’m a do-er as well, but I sure love watching quilters quilt, especially my beloved Angela! Already watcher the wavy lines video. Couple that with Christina’s new class on bluprint, and more squirrels are twitching their tails at me!

I watched but haven’t tried it yet. I got a new book called Walk and it’s full of walking foot info, so I might do my own challenge and work through that one.

Hello Roseanne, I am thrilled that you have discovered another Freemotion Quilting learning opportunity for yourself! As long as you continue to be excited and want to improve, you will always be achieving those goals. It honestly makes me feel wonderful knowing the excitement you feel about this. Plus, your quilting that you share is showing how much you continue to improve also! Thank you for sharing and have a fantastic day!

  10. I watched AW’s video as well. The only problem is that she makes it look so easy, and I end up being overconfident when I try it on a real quilt!
I’ve done the wavy line designs before and they are easy as advertised 🙂

Funny, I just watched this latest video yesterday. Like you I love watching others fmq. I liked her border idea with the V wavy lines and might try it on my bookshelf quilt border, I think it would look okay. Enjoy the challenge, I won’t do the challenge but always love watching her!

  12. I love her classes and really should go back to this. I will definitely subscribe and maybe get back to my long languishing dot to dot project.

  13. It’s great to see that you are going to participate in this and keep expanding your fmq skills. Someday I will do that, but for right now, I need to tackle all the deadline projects in my sewing room. I think I’ve over committed once again. Sigh.

I’m excited to hear you are doing this QAL. I wanted to do it, but there just isn’t enough hours in a day. I love watching others quilt. I think it is a wonderful way to learn designs and how to move around a quilt. I’ll be over here cheering you on!!!

  15. Hi Roseanne, if I practiced I’m sure I would eventually like FMQ…that’s a topic for another day 🙂 I do love seeing FMQ designs on quilts. I think Angela Walters is an awesome teacher, she keeps it real! Thanks for the heads up on the QAL I definitely watch the videos!
