Farm Placemats March OMG Project

It’s time to select our March OMG project – how did it get to be March already, anyway??!!  Patty at Elm Street Quilts hosts a monthly linky party.  She encourages everyone to select a project and make it your goal for completion for the month.  We have a goal to complete a Farm Placemat this month.

Farm Animal Fun

Dominic is rapidly becoming more aware of animals and the appropriate noises they make.  He’s got “woof, woof” down pat for his buddy Zeus.  We thought it was appropriate to make a Farm Placemat since he is eating at the big boy table now.

Nearly three years ago, we took a little quilt shop road trip with our friend, Carol.  It may have been part of the summer-long Row by Row experience for 2017.  While visiting one of the participating shops we picked up a pattern called Farm Placemats.

Farm Placemat Debate

Farm Placemats

Sue thinks we only need to make ONE placemat.  What??!!  Who makes just one?  We have two great-littles . . . I think each one needs their own placemat.  We may or may not be making more than one placemat this month.

Farm Cuteness Personified

This is the store model that due us to the pattern.

Placemats

At the time, we were still expecting the arrival of our sweet boy, Dominic.  We didn’t know his gender but these cute patterns would be perfect for either a boy or girl.  This project is also going to serve the dual purpose for our Quilt Qwazy Queen blog hop project.  The hop starts on the 18th but our day isn’t until the 23rd – we hope you check us out.

Join us each Tuesday for our hosted linky party called To-Do Tuesday.  Our other Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link above or along the sidebar on our website for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to.  Like/follow us on our Facebook page and you can share your photos of what you’re working on.  We would love to see them!

I am with the general consensus just surrender and make them all! So cute!

  6. Can’t wait to see these….gotta get my idea going for that hop. The one I had won’t work…so on to something else.

  7. Kathryn says:

So cute and I am sure you need to make more that one! Washing and all that!

  8. OF course you need two! And isn’t it great when a project checks off two boxes on the list?

Roseanne, what in the world is Sue thinking? You need at LEAST 2 … those littles will one day be sitting at your table … and it wouldn’t hurt to have 6 of them, so they have a choice! And, it you want to go super crazy … you can make 12 … 2 of each design and then if they both want to have the same placemat, there will be no fighting over it!
OK OK … I get that 12 is probably over the top … but at least 2!
    Happy Placemat making! 🙂

I think you’ll want to make them all!! Some for your house, some for their house, some for another house!! They are darling. Can’t wait to see which one you choose for this month’s OMG.

Hello Roseanne, These are delightful placemat patterns. I am going overboard here, yet, my opinion is to make each little one for each day of the week! That way they could never argue over who’s is who’s and so on. Plus just think of the fun you and Sue will have making them, oh and do not forget the other little ones in the family also! LOL. Have a fabulous time creating them! I am sending lots of waves!!!!

  13. Oh Yes! Do make them all. They are so sweet and the great littles will enjoy taking turns with the animals!

  14. Nobody makes just one! 😀 These are going to be so cute. I wouldn’t be surprised if you end up making the whole set! You’re such a good grandma.

  15. SEW adorable! You could make them reversible, with a different animal on each side of the placemat. I’d have difficulty choosing a favorite though.

  16. Roseanne, those placemats are so adorable — You should make all 6!

  17. Vicki in MN says:

  19. Jeanne says:

Adorable — I vote for the cat and the dog 🙂

  20. Perfect placemats for the littles! Might as well make two, maybe four, while you’re at it (so they can switch them out) 😉

  21. Brenda @ Songbird Designs says:

Those are just adorable. I love the duck and the lamb, but they are ALL adorable!!

  22. Laura says:
