AHHHH! Life Happens . . .
Each Tuesday we post a to-do list filled with good intentions. The list has been intentionally short to assist in my 2022 motto of being stress-free. Every Thursday, we share a post filled with a multitude of positive things that we love for the week. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16. And then, life happens. Things we can’t control . . . and that’s okay. It’s good to take a deep breath and remember just how blessed we are. So, here’s my deep breath on a Friday because there is good news to share. ~smile~

Rehab! Sue’s Mom came home from rehab yesterday!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lord. Her spirits are improved, she’ll be sleeping better, and she is determined to fully recover. I didn’t realize the worry burden I was carrying until I heard she was safely home. I am beyond thankful. She could get in the car without issue, she was able to climb the two steps into the house, she was able to take a refreshing shower and wash her hair – we all know how good that feels! – AND she was ready to pick up her Kindle and start reading. She’s got six books to work her way through so she’d better get busy. Phew. Let the real recovery begin.

Jury Duty! I have never served on a jury and have wanted to for ages and ages. I still haven’t but at least I can say I’ve been called. What a fascinating process. Mind numbingly boring but fascinating just the same. I love to people watch and I was given ample time to do so. There were LOTS of sitting around, lining up, standing around, and then more sitting.
While being worried about parking, I arrived each day WAY too early. One snowy morning, I arrived before the courthouse was actually open but the guard let me in! The lake view from the gathering room was stunning although cloudy over Lake Michigan, although the little snow we received the next morning wasn’t worth fretting about.
My juror number was 25, which I thought ensured that I would be serving as a panelist. Wrong! The numbers are randomized – they say – and one time I was dead last in the lineup. There was no chance in H that I was serving . . . and you know what? I am thankful. Especially after hearing what the lawsuits were about. Phew. I’ll be happy to do my civic duty again but there should be a better way. I don’t have the better way to suggest, though. Who cares what I think anyway?!! I get to return to work. Yippee!!

Weather! I’ve always heard from my parents that you can’t complain about the weather. It is what it is. Embrace it and take a little video enjoying the snow globe happening right before your eyes. Winter. I have been over it for weeks now . . . but what can I expect, living in Wisconsin. Snow happens. Embrace and enjoy it and be thankful that when it melts there isn’t flooding. Hmm. Maybe I need to be reminded about making snow angels, like the photos I shared on Wednesday.

Finally, dare I share some life happens events without including some littles?! No, I don’t think I dare because they happen to our lives all the time. And we are THANKFUL for that!! Here’s a couple of giggles in three pictures that will brighten your day, I think.
Dominic is happily enjoying a popsicle, watching Paw Patrol. He can feel he is being STARED at. Chase is the culprit. Yes, he would like some of that, please. D says, sure. You need to lick it – like this, with your tongue. Or yeah, you can bite it . . . if you want. Finally, Chaser says, what?!! Doesn’t everyone get meatloaf all.over.your.head when you eat it?? One cannot help but wonder if he ingested any but we are assured that he did. Stay safe!
