I Love Thursday #32
This is our 32nd post of things we love for the week. We post these loves each Thursday along with LeeAnna on her blog at Not Afraid of Color. Several friends also share on a weekly basis – be sure to check them out. You will surely find inspiration.
Love #1
Blooming trees. Just a bit of warm weather, like five days in total and the blooming trees are sure showing off. Isn’t it just wonderful?! I have nothing against all the gorgeous greens of the grass, but do have a special place in my heart for blooming trees. Have you ever been able to enjoy the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. around the reflection pond? This is not in our yard but from the hood. Our tree is taking its time . . .

Hello beautiful

New car wash! I’m sure you’ve gone to a car wash where you had to line up your left front wheel just so. And maybe you are good at that or maybe you aren’t, but the car wash mechanicals kind of straighten you out regardless. We have new kind of car wash in town! It is a moving sidewalk-type or conveyer belt called Rocket Wash. No lining up your wheel at all – just get it in the general area and it is moved along. How the heck cool is that?! It’s also cool that it is finally nice enough to get your car washed and it lasts for more than a day. Check out the link if you’d like to read about it.
Love #3
Mission Impossible followed by James Bond. Sunday was just the best TV day for us. We stumbled upon the FX channel which was hosting a Mission Impossible mini marathon followed by the James Bond episode Spectre. Lot of bad guys were taken care of, thankfully so we’re all good here. Phew! This is just the best thing for us to sew through for the most part. Sometimes we both just have to stop and watch when it’s the really tense scenes. ~smile~
Love #4
Brothers! Sue and I each have one boy in our families with three girls. Sue is the oldest, and I am the youngest and our brothers were born only two days apart. Mine on the 8th, and her’s on the 10th. We wish my brother a very happy 86th birthday, and we wish Sue’s brother a happy 59th. Unfortunately, we cannot celebrate the later only in our hearts – may you RIP, David. We love them both so much! Kudos and HB wishes to my niece, Betsy as well. It is also her 59th birthday. It is sweet to think that my sister and Sue’s mom were in the hospital at the exact same time!
Love #5
Our sweet boy, Dominic was over Saturday morning. Mom and Dad ran errands and he supervised my coffee making for GG. Thankfully, I passed inspection. Dominic says he hopes you had a wonderful Cinco de Mayo day. ~smile~

Yup, I’m 8 months old now!
That’s it for this week! We hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday and please have a Happy Mother’s Day on Sunday! Even if you’re not a mother, have a happy day.

So many favorites! 🙂 I really enjoy the spring flowering trees and bushes too. Their presence, if only for a short time, adds so much sparkle to spring. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your weekly list of favorites.
I have never been to D.C. while the cherry blossoms are in bloom, but I would sure like to … and talk to me about car washes! Since we live on a dirt road, it’s almost not worth washing the car – it’s either dust or mud or snow … but we still do, mainly to make sure the crud is out from underneath the car so that key parts keep working! Have you been to a car wash where it scans your car so that is knows the exact size, and then it works around the car while you are stationary? Cool!
Great loves. My poor car hasn’t had a wash in ages. It’s been ages since I’ve seen a Bond movie. I may need to catch up on them.
Great post! Yes, I’ve seen the blooming cheery trees that line the Tidal basin in Washington DC. Tu-Na Helper and I used to live out in that area, well, a suburb of Silver Spring MD but we were very closer. We went downtown often to enjoy walking around the basin or the mall or exploring the Smithsonian buildings. I enjoyed those days. They would have made great blogging material if I’d been blogging back then. But I’m not even sure computers existed yet.
What a sweet face that little fellow has!
I planted a burning bush last year and I’ve just bought a flowering wegeila to plant this year. I love flowering bushes and trees. Our lilac is no where near blooming yet but I’m looking forward to it.
We usually wash our cars at home but that sounds like a fabulous idea.
I am loving all the Thursday posts ! An your little man…..he is a heart melter!
After moving to Southern Oregon from Wyoming over 30 years ago, I treasure all of the beauty that nature has to offer. Do not get me wrong, Wyoming has some gorgeous lands also! Yet, I do love the flowering trees. We have cherry, apple, pears and a friend has a peach and a pear tree. Driving anywhere right now you see such an array of beautiful colors. Thank you for sharing this. It is really a nice way to start a day!
Ah, Bond, my one true love. Sean was the best, but Daniel is such a close second I sometimes forget my first love!!!
yes blooming trees!!! If only they could stay those colors longer! Dom has an open happy face, I bet anyone seeing him feels lifted up!
The blooming tree is so pretty!
I love the blooming trees, too, and they are beautiful right now in our town. And everything smells so good! That car wash sounds like a great idea. My hubby is the one who usually navigates getting us into the car wash, but I’ve had to do it a time or two. Cute Dominic – what a great smile!
DOMINIC!!! That smile!!! Swoon!!!! 😀 Have a great week!
Well, I have the Mission Impossible theme song in my head now, but I agree that would’ve been a fun binge-worthy afternoon! On one of the rainy days at Sundance, I watched Men in Black and Men in Black 2, and enjoyed them both. It might’ve just been the vacation. Haha! Dominic is a handsome little man! Enjoy him!
Great post Roseanne! The car wash looks futuristic. I grew up in Washington DC and we always enjoyed going to see the Cherry Blossoms! Dominic is getting bigger -you are so lucky to see him so often. Mission Impossible now that’s a blast from the past 🙂
Hope you have a happy Mother’s Day also!
