Love #1
Finding a penny! I have always heard from a child on, “find a penny, pick it up and all day you’ll have good luck.” As an adult, I learned the additional value that an angel or spirit was telling you that you are loved or valued. I ran in to two pennies in one day – a rarity since I mostly walk a short distance from my car into work. They were both heads up. Next time you find a penny or coin maybe you’ll find comfort knowing someone you love is thinking of you. If it’s facedown flip it over for someone else to find.
Love #2
Need to Know by Karen Cleveland. I just finished this book, and I could hardly put it down. I got it from the library and read it in three days . . . it was one of those that I would think about at work, wondering how it was going to wrap up and where it was going. And the ending!! Holy moly! I never saw that coming. I guess it’s on the best whatever list. I would highly recommend it, and it is her first book. I sure hope she has plans for a follow up as there is a little cliffhanger going on. It is about a CIA intelligence agent and Russian spies . . . I’ll leave it at that. ~smile~
Love #3
Advanced stretching. I’ve moved on to stretching my calf and heels on stairs now. You know, you hang your heel off the edge of a step and drop them down slowly. The stretch in your calf is great and doing it slowly doesn’t cause any damage. I believe that is one of the best stretches I’ve felt so far and may be the key to getting plantar fasciitis gone for good. Well, this time anyway.
Love #4
Snow days! Our district called a snow day (our first in several years) and they changed their policy. This was the first time in over 30 years working in a school district that the closing included admin/office staff. Yippee! I didn’t have to waste a vacation day to stay home warm and safe. We had eight days of snow – I think everyone around here was welcoming our current five day break.
Love #5
Since yesterday was the special day for love, I thought it would be appropriate to share a love filled photo from Dominic. He and his momma hope you had a fabulous Valentine’s Day. ~smile~ And someone got his first Valentine in the mail from his friends with a doggy on it. ♥
That’s it for this week! I hope your week is filled with many blessings. Happy Thursday! Our Linky Parties can be found by clicking the link for more quilting fun – check out what our friends are up to. Like/follow us on our Facebook page and share your likes/loves there! We love to see them. ~smile~
Dominic has such a sweet half smile on the photograph with the card. What a cutie! Glad you got to stay home! Have a great week!
Thanks so much – it is like he knew it was something special as it didn’t go into his mouth like everything else. ~smile~ Roseanne
What a precious Dominic is! Mom will put that first valentine in his baby book. Thanks for the heads up on the book. I”ll look for it at the library.
Good Morning!
Thanks so much for the sweet comment about Dominic. Yes, that Valentine is definitely going in the baby book. ~smile~ Roseanne
Snow days are awesome….even though it really doesn’t matter too much to me anymore. How fun to find a penny. Jeff used to tease me about stopping to pick them up. But now with him gone feathers, pennies, and so many other things have a deeper meaning. OMG Dominick is adorable with his Valentine.
Hi Colette,
I love the deeper meaning in things, especially cardinals. I see them so rarely, and one lives in the tree outside my office at work. I know it’s someone from my past wishing me well. Of course I agree about D being adorable – it was one of the first things that didn’t go directly in his mouth! HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne
Hooray for a snow day! I’m a retired teacher and I still get a charge out of those words. A new book to check out – I love spy/mystery/thrillers – favorite genre! Happy Thursday, Roseanne!
Hi Diann, you are wide awake. Oh the possibilities. ~smile~ Roseanne
Does anything wake you up more than those words, snow day?!! You can drag yourself out of bed any other day, but here that on the news and
look at him sitting up! I saw a beautiful one year old party, where the gran put a picture of the baby each week, or month? up in little hearts as a banner. Beatrice Euphemie is the blog. She kept a pic from each week/month. I was ready to check out the book til you said cia… spy thrillers are too much for me at bedtime, but my husband is another matter… heh heh. I always pick up pennies. And if you find a quarter! Well, jackpot!
Hi LeeAnna,
Yes, that book would not be for putting you to sleep. It was one of those where I wanted to know where it was going, how it was going to be resolved. It had me reading instead of sewing! I get a daily picture of Dominic so I could have a 365 banner at his first birthday. HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne
Roseanne, I always look forward to reading your “favorites” post. You seem to be such a happy person, enjoying even the simplest of things. It’s always nice when a book actually keeps you interested. If a book doesn’t grab my attention right away it’s doomed to be forgotten on a shelf. I’m so happy that the physical therapy is helping. They come up with such interesting ways to solve our issues. If only we had thought of them on our own. Dominic looks like he has grown so much. Very cute photo of him with his Mom! Gee, I wonder who sent him that adorable card? 🙂 Happy Thursday!
Hi Cindy,
PT has just been the best! I cannot believe I can almost always take a step now and it doesn’t hurt. The simple things are the best. ~smile~ Roseanne
Oh they are! Sounds like a miracle for you! I’m so glad. 🙂
Glad you got a well deserved snow day as well as the kiddos. Seems like if roads are unsafe, they are unsafe for everyone!
Hi Sandy,
You said it! And I drive 45 miles one way – I was planning to burn a vacation day rather than plow through it. ~smile~ Roseanne
I always pick up pennies as well!! And glad your district was sensible enough to call a snow day.
Hi Michele,
I really look at them now to see if they are face up or face down. It’s nice to think that I may be making a happy day for someone if I flip it over. ~smile~ Roseanne
Hi there, in my career as a teacher in northern communities, we would get snow days and loved it so much. A bonus!
I read where Angela Lansbury no longer exercises but does a daily stretch routine, I think this gets more important as we age. I’m so glad this is working for you.
That little guy just couldn’t get any cuter now could he.
Hi Jocelyn,
Aww, that is so nice of you to say. My heart just melted when I saw that picture of him with that puppy valentine. Be still my heart! ~smile~ Roseanne
